I wonder what Beast's castle is going to be like?

Excellent excellent job RAXIP! Pictures tell the tale better than anything else.

Thank you.

Will the Beauty & the Beast portion of FL be entirely devoted to this new restaurant or will there be other elements as well? Obviously a Belle, Beast, et al meet and greet area is a gimme, but anything more substantial? It's far and away my favorite Disney film and I'm hoping it gets lots of love.

There are three sections.

The Be Our Guest restaurant (top left/center), Belle Character Greeting Experience beginning at her father's cottage (lower left) and the Village (upper right), featuring Gaston's Tavern (quick-service), a Merchandise location and restrooms. I'll look for some more artwork.

EDIT:
Thank you Progress City USA (click for full FLE article & bigger pics)

Of course the ballroom windows will be showing a false outside... much more control of the environment and no need to worry about backstage buses and fireworks with that.

I agree I wish we were getting a ride by far my favorite movie and I know many who agree

Trolling is the action of intentionally making a viewpoint that is opposing the popular viewpoint or intentionally making stupid or inflammatory remarks to create an inflammatory response from others.

Example would be if I come onto a Disney fan site and say "Disney stinks, now Universal knows how to build a park. I don't know wy anyone wastes their money at Disney."

ok, got it now ! Thanks :)

Thanks for all the links are refresher. I guess I never studied all the artwork that close.

This is a very immersive expansion. I don't care what anyone says, I am excited about the Dumbo area. I remember the way circus' were magic when I was little and this may be the best ever take on the subject.

Yeah! Thanks!

It's great to have all of that in one place, I'm pretty sure I've seen all those renderings, but never all together in one place, really helps put it all together.

It is strictly forced perspective from the outside and will be nothing like Cindy's castle in architectural form. I'm suprised we are this far along and so many people don't realize that. Or trolling perhaps.

BTW, it will be situated so that if you are looking at the BatB pavilion you can't be looking at Cindy's so I think the forced perspective will work fine.

I understand it'll be strictly forced perspective...that's a given. My point was I was curious as to which specific techniques, tricks and designs WDI would implement to get their desired look while not detracting from Cinderella's Castle.

I've seen all the concept art (have quite a bit of it printed out in hi-res) so I'm excited to see it come to fruition if for no other reason than to see masterful design work brought to life.

Hope THAT wasn't trolling as well...

Those pictures look absolutely amazing!! I can't wait to see it in the next few years! By the time I go again in 2013 they should be right on schedule for the opening of the new section!!:sohappy:

We've been watching a lot of BATB in our house this past week, and I've been doing a lot of fantasizing about what the restaurant will be like! It makes most sense for the ballroom windows to have a projection. As night falls, shouldn't there always be stars twinkling into the ballroom???? I started to get a little carried away in my daydream....could you imagine getting married in that ballroom????? I know, I know - I said it was a daydream.....

It's funny that you say that, you know...the getting married part. My BF had that same thought when I showed him to pictures and production sketches...we would do this.

I'm really excited to see this expansion when it finally comes to life, but I'm really hoping that the FL expansion walls are the only construction scrims that I see when we go in Feb-March. I just want to be able to see WDW without tons of construction, but I suppose if that is the end result, I can totally deal.

More than likely the same. Put it against a sky with no trees in sight and it will look larger.

Not to jump to conclusions or anything, but if its the same size as those dioramas on Storybookland, won't that be a tad underwhelming?

I'll reserve true judgement until I see it.

It'll be bigger. The castle will be 15 to 20 feet tall. Small, but will look quite a bit larger due to the forced perspective.

So it will be the same size as Sleeping Beauty castle at Disneyland.
JUST KIDDING! I love their Mini Golf size castle.

This is my understanding of the "Be Our Guest" restaurant:

You will enter over a drawbridge structure (like in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland) to the entrance foyer which is built into the side of a mountain. To the left of the drawbridge is Maurice and Belle's cottage where you can meet Belle, and to the left is the village, home of Gaston's Tavern. Above and behind the mountain is Beast's Castle, as if off in the distance, similar to the way the Eiffel Tower is presented in Epcot's France pavilion. As the Eiffel Tower is visible throughout World Showcase, Beast's castle will be in Fantasyland. It will be very difficult to find a sightline where you can compare it with Cinderella Castle without it appearing to be just further off in the distance.

Through the entrance/foyer you'll enter the Ballroom and the main seating area. Smaller dining areas are to the left and right. The kitchen is on the left, bathrooms on the right. The ballroom will look like the one in the film, with a large curved window area in the rear. The trick will be to keep the window area from allowing a view of the backstage area. Right below will be the road used by the buses bring Cast Members from parking to the Utilidor, as well as delivery trucks. This should be below grade level so keeping sightline up could do the trick. Directly behind this is a new pond and some of the old trees that separate this area from the railroad tracks, so it may not be as difficult as I think.

Understandably, the restaurant dining rooms are within the mountain, similar to LeCellier in Epcot. The illusion will be you are dining in the castle in the distance.

Currently (10/13) steel work is rising in the Kitchen section, with excavation and foundation work for the main ballroom progressing. As mentioned, this is going to be a very large building.
