Trip Report I Will Survive.....Spring Break (with a hint of May) *COMPLETED*

At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live among the Spring Break crowds
But then I spent so many nights thinking how I could be wrong
And I grew strong
And I knew I could get along....

Well that’s what I’m hoping for anyway. I’m not a newbie when it comes to navigating Spring Break at WDW. I’ve got a couple decades of experience under my belt. “Spring Break” isn’t a single week of cray cray crowds (like the week between Christmas and New Years) but is spread over March and April. Unfortunately one (or more) of those weeks can end up being cray cray....and these days, there is no way to predict which one.

Please don’t let it be this week.

But we are prepared. ADRs at 180 days. FPs at 60 days. Clothing for rain or shine. (Praying for shine ~ we’ve had enough rain over the last 4 months to set an ark afloat.) And attitudes willing to “go with the flow.” 🐢

My goal is to keep the updates live. Should I fail? There’s always Part “Tu”.

Who: Tuvalu, Woody and Em (the teacher whose schedule dictates when we go)
When: Sunday, March 31 - Sunday, April 7, 2019
Where: Port Orleans French Quarter
Why: Let’s hope we don’t ask ourselves this!
How: We’ve done the plane, can’t take the train....so it must be the automobile!

Will we be smiling at the end of the week? Stay tuned.

And if you don’t hang around for the smiles, you may want to peek in and see if there are any WDWMagic meet ups. I know of at least three forum friends I hope to encounter.

Now it’s off to bed! The alarm is set for zero-dark-thirty.

You rave about this place so much that at the beginning of the post, I thought maybe we should work it in on our next trip, especially if it’s about to change.

Then I see the menu and think, “meh.”

Except maybe the alcoholic floats - for something different!
As a Jersey boy you are probably used to many offerings on a diner menu. B&C is essentially a diner on a tiny scale. My raves are primarily for the nostalgia factor, the steak fries (only place at WDW that serves them now), and the specialty sundaes.

@TrolleyFollower91 - for the sake of all grade 3 students in Georgia please tell me that your mother's math skills have skipped a generation and that when you add up the unwrapped gondolas you end up with an answer of 5

I say this with glowing respect and admiration ….

You are such a Mom!!!

First you see Oda Mae Brown in Hollywood studios and then Em does her best Sam Wheat impression on the bus!!

1. It’s not so much my lack of math skills (although I freely admit math is not my best subject) but my eyesight! I quickly counted 4 and posted without double checking the picture. 🤷🏻‍♀️

2. Once a Mom, always a Mom. I’ll take the compliment!

3. Em had to google Oda Mae and Sam for us....then we chuckled! (I only saw Ghost once.)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup butter
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup Heath bar pieces
1 pound powdered sugar

Method of Preparation:
  1. Put cream cheese in mixer.
  2. Slowly add eggs and vanilla.
  3. Add butter and mix well.
  4. Put in powdered sugar, then add chocolate chips and toffee pieces.
  5. Just mix; do not over mix.
  6. Put on top of Cake Bottom in pan.
  7. Bake at 325 for 35 minutes, then check.
THANK YOU!!! 💜

@Tuvalu, could you pass on the thumbs up for Woody's AWESOME t-shirt :D?
Funny you should mention his Goofy shirt! Some lady commented on it while we were in the Figment line. You could see the look of disappointment when he hold her he’s had the shirt for years!

That was fun--I've never seen that either. Thanks for the photo evidence! :)
Even that is interesting -- it appeals to the geek in me. :geek:
(Just a thought: if you said it was 200 pennies, it wouldn't sound like you were being ripped off as much?) :p
Happy there is another geek in the club!
I need to ponder whether 200 pennies sounds less than $2. 😄

That's a bummer that it didn't show up in your account. I saw some others on Facebook, it's a cute picture... they say it's taken when your looking at the pictures of the lightning.

ooo thanks! on the shopdisney.com there are new orange bird iphone cases....
Saw the case in person....was tempted....but I love my UP case so much!

We had a long wait for the MK bus.

Soon we would find out why.

World Drive was closed past the intersection of Seven Seas/Timberline Dr. Our bus made a left on Seven Seas, drove past the TTC and Poly, then turned right on Floridian Way past the GF. We continued driving in a loop behind the MK.

For over 40 years I have wondered what the monorail roundhouse looks like. Tonight I got to see it for myself.

Pretty exciting stuff, right?

Well I was excited.

Then we passed the backside of Space Mountain! Another thrill!

Anyhoo, the detour added about 10 minutes to the trip between POFQ and MK.

Worth it.
One time google maps sent me through that back entrance. Got a good view of the monorail house. No pics though.

Forgot to mention that we saw a man carrying a tiny dog in his arms while attempting to board a doom buggy.

This prompted Woody to ask, “If you need an animal for emotional support, should you really be riding the Haunted Mansion?”

The man has a point.

We sat in the front row. Just because we could.

CM Bob entertained us as part of the pre-show. I’m pretty sure he is the same CM who told the jokes I put in my last trip report. When he asked why God only made one Yogi Bear, I was quick to respond, “Because He didn’t want to make a Boo Boo.”

I think I shocked CM Bob that I knew the answer.

Eventually the show started.

A great family tradition for us, that started on my first trip to DL when I was 6. Haunted Mansion, followed by Country Bears. I am so happy that I can still do this with my kids at WDW.
