I Will NEVER Cut Down DAK's Dinosaur Ride Ever Again!

Whoa, industrial-grade snobbery ITT.

My GF and I had a blast with this. This was a super fun way to kill an hour or so. Yes, it's obviously not up to par with Disney AAs... but for five bucks at a roller coaster park, why would anyone expect it to be? Of course, the cheese was part of the fun. The sounds especially were pretty funny. Some have pointed out elephant and mountain lion roars, but one of my faves were what sounded like a goat. Some also sounded like an angry old man, and my personal favorite was the liberal use of the classic Godzilla roar. Hopefully Toho doesn't find out about that last one...

I too am failing to see a point in the comparison to Dinosaur at DAK. Because some random park happens to have an underwhelming Dino attraction, Disney is suddenly forgiven for borked effects and figures? Disney set a standard and needs to live up to it. The standard for Disney quality isn't set by King's Island. The standard for Dinosaur was set when DAK first opened and ALL the effects were working perfectly.

It could be worse (and still might get worse even). But it could certainly be much better. No denying that. Don't lower your expectations or cease to complain just because a non-Disney park puts on a crappy show.

Looks like an updated traveling exhibit that would come to COSI. I enjoyed that when I was a little kid. As an adult this just looks cheesy, but if it keeps little johnny entertained for $5 not bad. You could say you can do this now or get a glow stick souvenir later on but not both. I am sure I got my parents to spend more then $5 on crap a King's Island after paying for the gate price.

This would have worked for me, last time I was at King's Island Hanna Barbera Land was more my speed, to small/scared for the Beast or the Vortex.

First off, yay for those who have converted to the dino side of the kingdom. as a reply to the video...

oh my where to begin... first off. Moody Guardens had something similar to that a few years ago as a temporty exibit. that one was done sooooo much better. the scene was as if you had crashed your jeep and stuck in a jerassic park. but at least the dino's didnt sound like a goat eating a mountan lion. and godzilla having a cough... my fav about the video was the fact that the dino's mouth would move as it was speeking like you and i not an animal. i mean when my dog barks his mouth only moves once... not 30.... it was like watching a japanees movie.... the worst part was as the dinos did their talking thing all i could think was meet the robinsons, except it was more "i dont understand it, i have these huge legs yet i am bolted to the floor" and then we get to the fact that they all we shaking thier heads like "noooo dont take my picture, i dont even want to be here":ROFLOL:

makes me want to head to disney and hit up my favorite ride. DINOSAUR!

WOW! That's pretty sad. Jacksonville Zoo had a similar attraction last spring that was smaller and done much better. They had a little more to the animitronics than mouths opening, tails wagging, & piano hands. I applaud their effort but, to charge extra.......not worth it.

Uh I don't get it either. So people are comparing a walk through to a ride at Disney? I'm sure little kids would actually get a kick out of this so who cares?

We need time for things to happen.

Thats exactly it. Disney set its own high standards long long ago. They didnt get to the #1 theme park position that they are in now by shooting for just better than 6 flags. They got there by going light-years past the competition and not settling on mediocre. In no way does this video make me think that the things wrong with dinosaur are justifiable.
