: Shivers : I cannot STAND the Manning Family. Being from New Orleans, my mom kisses soo much A$$ of those people it is ridiculous. All I hear is, Peyton never did that Sean...Eli was a great student....blah blah blah :hurl: :hurl: :hurl: :hurl:

I even came home from college one weekend to see the Milk ad with Peyton, Eli, and Archie in front of my picture in the kitchen

He will be the next Marino....have every record and NO championships...He couldn't even do it at Tennessee!

Who pooped in your Wheaties?
Being from New Orleans; I'm proud of the Manning family because they have this rare thing called CLASS. I watched Archie suffer with the Saints and to watch his sons' high school years, successful college years, and still maintain a down to earth demeanor. Archie was excellent with Jim Henderson on 870AM; calling the Saints games. If Peyton makes it to the Super Bowl; I'm going to be watching Archie and Olivia, and if he wins, I'm going to cry with them.

Amen, Debbie! The Manning's are nothing but class and I could think of nothing better than having Peyton and Eli go up against each other in the Super Bowl--a very real possibility this season.

Funny you should mention Jim Henderson. i saw him on an ESPN special Sunday and hadn't seen him in years. He's always been a classy guy too. I'm surprised he never jumped at the chance to leave the city and go "big time". Remember him and Hap Glaudi? Good times, good times.

I am a big Tennessee fan and I got to shake Peyton's hand not this past weekend but last @ UT. They were retiring his jersey and it was an off week for the Colts, so he headed down to his alma. As they started off the Vol Walk I bravely reached out like no one had done yet and yelled that I loved him and he smiled really big and reached for my hand too!

If Eli and Peytey-Pie were up against each other in the Superbowl, I believe this would be my favorite thus far in my life!

Thanks for the support of the Mannings!
(And I still want to make his babies)

I personally adore Peyton (and the rest of my Colts!). He does so much for Indianapolis. I work a block from the Dome, live about 100 feet from their practice complex and my job allows me to work with various Colts staff and attend lots of games. Life in Indy is good right now!

and I would totally have Peyton OR Eli's babies :lookaroun

Is it really a possibility? I haven't been able to watch a whole lot of TV since Katrina......:(

I do remember Hap Glaudi! I look forward to Jim Henderson's commentary every Monday; that's if I get to watch the news.
Do you remember Garland Robinette and Angela Hill? Angela is STILL on the 5 and 6pm news and Garland just started at WWL-870am. His perspective on New Orleans is interesting and sparks great debate. Who else do you remember?
Susan Roberts (of CBS News) once told me "Gee, you New Orleans people sure do know your news reporters". She was such a smarta$$. Maybe knowing and loving people is what gives us our special flavor (as Angela Hill puts it)

I'd love to join in and have Peyton's baby; younger men are alot of fun!:animwink: Now if I can just think of an excuse for Don :p

Oh yeah, I remember Garland and Angela. They're not married anymore, are they? I always liked Angela a lot. Could I have her baby? :lookaroun  When we were there, Chris Myers--now of FOX Sports--was one of the most eligible bachelors in N.O. One night he had a band-aid on his forehead and to this day you can still see the scar. We always talk about that when we see him.

Oh, thanks for the signature material.:animwink:

Did you know Garland Robinette is from Boutte? And most of the WWL staff had severe damage to their homes. If you could research a Times Picayune article on John Gumm and read about how he was working at Channel 4, expecting to be there for the next three days and his wife goes into labor.......how they have the baby in Slidell, HAVE to be evacuated into contraflow, and how they lost everything.........so did the chief meteorologist, Carl Arredondo.
I remember Chris Meyers' time in New Orleans and I love him on Nascar :sohappy:

Glad you like the signature-----maybe I can come with another good one someday:)
BTW: Where did you live when you lived in New Orleans? You might be shocked if I can get a picture for you of what it looks like today......

WRONG! 1997 SEC Champions. The Peyton Manning led Vols beat Auburn to win the conference title. :animwink:

I was there too. We watched the Vol Walk on the corner of Peyton Manning Pass and Stadium Drive. Where were your seats?

Too bad that was one of the worst losses I've ever experienced at Neyland :(

I'm recalling a few other names--Bill Elder, the old guy who was the weather god in New Orleans--last name was Roberts, I think. Who took over the weather after him? As you can tell, we only watched WWL, as did half the city.

We lived in two places while we were there. First was in the Gentilly area at the seminary campus. We were not far from the Louisa St. exit (#239). The seminary is right where Gentilly Blvd. becomes Chef Menteur Highway.

Second place was in Metairie, on the I-10 service road, very close to Clearview Parkway. I think the apartments were Sun Apartments, but I'm sure they've been renamed or maybe even razed by now. Joy worked downtown at the Texaco Building (the black glass building that reminds us of Darth Vader). She was a legal secretary for a very prominent law firm. I worked at First Baptist Church Kenner on Williams Blvd.

We've seen some pictures of the seminary campus and they took a hard hit. The water was as deep as 10 feet in some places there. If you can find any pictures, I would love to see them.

Question for you...

How many Super Bowls has Peyton )or the whole Manning family for that matter) won? let me answer that for you.... 0!

Until he wins a Super Bowl he is a good QB who can't win the big game.. a la Dan Marino!

The last time I was at a Colts game and looked at the roster, Peyton's name wasn't the only one listed. Meaning-while he is the leader, he's not alone on the field. He's not winning alone and he's not losing alone. It's not "Peyton Manning" who can't win the big game, it's the entire team. Just saying. :p

And it doesn't seem to matter that Dan Marino never won a Super Bowl, does it? We're all still sitting here talking about him!

I was at the corner next to the dorms that are touching the athletic building they come out of. Peyton was first with some cops and I believe Fulmer (eat a freakin' salad). It was glorious!

We had seats Section S row 8 (facing Peyton when he went out on the field). They cost us a pretty penny on ebay, but it was totally worth it!!

You?

You can mark my words...

The Colts are a great team...but if they lose to Houston this week or the Bengals...they will NOT go undefeated...(I'd put money on it :lookaroun )

That's where we usually go for the Walk, but we got a late start and didn't have time to walk all the way up there.

I've sat in MM my whole life
