I thought the sky liner was built to minimize stops.

But its true sir. You can put a tint on glass that allows the light to pass but not the heat. Its used commonly on windows now and I assume these gondolas. Not that it matters now.... The system literally crashed today:(
And not only did it crash, people have been stuck for over two hours, no updates from Disney to actual riders, and I’ve seen more than one post from people stuck on board complaining about how hot it is in there.

I’m Never gonna ride this thing.

But seriously, I have been on both kinds in the heat of the day and I can tell you.... Not noticible difference.

Remember..... Winter days can be super bright, super sunny, and really really cold.

But this is Florida so.....

What keeps them cool is designed by the manufacturer and has nothing to do with the wraps. While speaking of how they were designed with florida weather in mind Neither doppelmayr not Disney sites the wraps as part of the design to keep them cooler.

Thats all I have to say in the matter. If you can find a printed source from Disney or Doppelmayr stating the Wraps are part of the cooling design then color me interested in that. In the mean time i am going remain on course that the cooling is the vents and the tint and the composite material they are made of.

The wraps are not designed to be part of the mechanism to reduce heat in the gondola.
But that doesn't mean that they may not reduce incoming radiation - and thus heat to a certain extent.
There is no uv reducing index to common window coverings used in houses, but even translucent/sheer window treatments reduce the degree to which sunlight penetrates - and lowers temps.
