Pre-Trip I Ordered a Tomboy but Got a Disney Princess Instead...

We've looked at the wrist to wrist leashes and even had one in the Amazon cart for a while but haven't pulled the trigger. I'll put it back into consideration.

We can't do Bippity Boppity Boutique because my daughter will not be old enough for it when we go. They only accept children 3 years or older and we don't feel comfortable fudging her age for it. We do plan on stopping by Castle Couture before dinner at CRT though so she can get "pixie dusted".

Thank you for your kind words and advice!
Oooopss.. I misread your initial post.. I thought she was 2 months shy when you started the thread and would be 3 at time of trip..... <facepalm> Guess she will have something to look forward to on the next trip... <grin>

Hope it helped... Wife is already planning our trip next December.. Twins will be 4 1/2.. so similar planning situation...

I look forward to your final Tr.

Just a couple notes ~
The pick-up/drop off location for the holiday sleigh ride is not near the stables. You’ll have to ride an internal shuttle bus to get there (and I am not sure if the stable area is open past dusk.)

The Wilderness Lodge is not attached to the campground. You will have to either bus or boat from the campground if you want to see the decorations inside the lodge.

Your Christmas morning plan is very ambitious and a lot to accomplish in 4.5 hours on one of the busiest days of the year....be willing to be flexible .

You forgot to schedule snacking on dryer lint.

The CM you spoke with has obviously never made the walk between the campground and WL. It is not an easy walk, especially with a two year old. It’s far. And it is not lighted so you certainly wouldn’t want to do it after dark.

My advice:
Unless you plan to go inside the Contemporary, I would Uber to the WL and either take the boat or bus to the campground (there is a direct bus that runs between WL and Ft. Wilderness which drops off a short walk from Crockett’s Tavern.) This will save you time and in case it happens to be cold (which I’ve experienced in December) gives you the option of riding in a warm bus instead of an open boat (I’ve had a few COLD boat rides, so I know of what I speak!)

When your sleigh ride is over you can return to WL to grab some food (quick serve choice is slim at campground) and see Santa (and possibly Mickey and Minnie) in the lobby for Christmas Eve. (There should be a sign in the lobby for times.) Uber back to AoA from WL. (I think Uber can only pick up from the main entrance to the campground which requires riding an internal bus from Crockett’s/Hoop De Doo area.)

I second this.

We rode bikes to/from WL to FW. It’s not a walk that I would take with a 2 year old.. and definitely not at night. It’s mostly covered by tree canopy, not sure if there’s lights.

Same with the weather, it was cold in the evenings while we there 2 weeks ago...December can be chilly for sure.

Thank you!!! That sounds like a much better plan! I'll be sure to pop in the lobby and check the times before we head to the campgrounds.

So far she hasn't been a fan of Santa but we'll see how she does this year:

She's very adamant that she's going to give him a hug this year, but I'm not super optimistic :rolleyes:

Love the photos!!!!!

Maybe she’ll be under a pixie spell and will feel more confident this year :)

The cast member who was helping me with the sleigh ride said if we stayed on the boat from the contemporary it would go to the campgrounds after it hit the lodge. From there we would check in across from Crockett's Tavern. She suggested checking out the stables but it's honestly not a deal breaker for us so that's an easy skip.

She also said that it was an easy walk from the campgrounds to the lodge, even with a two year old. I'll have to look into this, so thank you so so so much for mentioning this!!

MK on Christmas morning... When I plugged it into Touring Plans (without Merida) it gave me just over 90 minutes of free time. Everything is skipable though except the fast pass rides and apparently A is ridiculously excited to drive her own car on the speedway. And we don't necessarily have to leave the park right on schedule, I just wanted to make sure we got back to the hotel in time for a good nap (which is usually at 1 pm). So there's a lot of cushion I built in there, but if it still goes sideways I'll breathe deeply, and think about you and Max and others and all the great (calming) advice you've all given!!

I think my only chance to grab the light up dryer lint will be our last night there so I hope they have it!!!
I don't know how tall your daughter is, but keep in mind that there is a height restriction for driving the cars at Speedway. I don't know what that height is, but while the small ones can absolutely ride, they can not DRIVE. So you may want to check into that and prepare her for the idea of only getting to ride along.

Thanks for the shout out!!

To be mentioned in the same paragraph as @Tuvalu ..... my heat is skipping!!!

I wish you the best of luck on this vacation

My desire is that you are able to see past the insanity of the season at wdw and that it does not turn you off enough to never want to return again

@DisneyBound2017 ALWAYS does her homework!!

So do I...I appreciate that someone else does as well. When we were in DLP, they kept announcing that kids had to be at least 132 cm to drive. On the website, it DOES say they can drive with an adult if they are at least 81cm, but the people ahead of us had a couple of kids who looked to be about 3 and 5...definitely over 81cm, but they weren't allowed to drive...the parents had to drive. I wonder if it has recently changed...I don't even know if a kid that small could reach the pedals TO drive. I guess they must if Disney allows it. But that's why I mentioned it...because I know in DLP, they didn't allow it. That was one of the only 2 rides my DS would go on and we did it 5 or 6 times, so I heard that announcement over and over and over. "Please remember that drivers must be at least 132 cm to drive."
