I met Samantha Brown!!!

Yesterday after work, I took the subway home to Brooklyn as always. In the two blocks between the subway station and my apartment, there's this great little shop called One Girl Cookies that I stop in fairly regularly for a few small cookies, a brownie, or a whoopi pie. So I go in and there is a video crew all set up and almost ready to go. I wonder what all this is.

Then just as I'm placing my order, I turn and there is Samantha Brown! And boy, does she look good. Once I pay, I tell her how happy I am that she is covering this great little shop. She asked me if I was in to get my cookie fix. Oh yeah.

We exchanged a few pleasantries, then I quickly left before I started to look like a dope.

Living in New York City you see a lot of celebrities and become fairly blase about them. "Oh look, it's so-and-so...eh."

But Samantha Brown...She's fine. And watching her shows, you can just imagine yourself traveling to all these great places with her. And of course, her shows on Disney World certainly raise the interest of a WDW junky like me. At my age, if I could say there is anyone on TV that I have a bit of a crush on, it would be her.

Sorry, I just had to share as I am still so excited.

So did you get the impression that she was genuinely nice, or just superficially nice?

The reason I ask is because my wife and I ate at Beaches and Cream on our trip back in April, and I asked if any of the employees there were there when Samantha Brown shot he "Great Hotels" episode. There was a tall blond lady working there who said that she was working when Samantha was there and she told me that Samantha wasn't very nice. The original question I had was whether she ate the whole Kitchen Sink by herself or if she split it up with her crew. The answer was neither. She took one bite for the video shot, then the rest got thrown in the trash. Apparently, she ate at Yachtsman Steakhouse and Cape May both that day and that Beaches and Cream was her third stop that same say and she was obviously too stuffed to eat much of the Kitchen Sink. I found that quite interesting, since I thought she was at the Beach Club for a few days and ate at those places over the course of two or three days. Regardless, though, the waitress told me that Samantha Brown just wasn't very nice, contrary to how she appears on her shows.

Of course, that's just one person's opinion, so take it with a grain of salt.

Hard to tell. She (and the crew) did seem to be having a good time though, so it wasn't like she suddenly had to put on a smile because someone was talking to her. She was smiling already.

Although I could see how she (or anyone) could come across as not too nice while working at a video shoot, particularly one at WDW. I'm sure their days there are very long, starting early and going late, and very hectic as they rush from one location to another. Then try doing that for three days straight while fans keep coming up to say hello.

I'd want a drink in my hand too. (And no, she didn't have one - this was a cookie shop.)

did she have an alcoholic beverage in her hand???

:lookaroun

anyone else notice she is ALWAYS drinking on every show she does...
I've noticed that too :lmao:

It's funny, because on her cruise show last night when she did Carnival Inspiration, she kept getting mobbed by fans, and she said she'd have to be sober more often as a result :lookaroun :ROFLOL:

Thanks for sharing! That's cool, I love her shows and she looks like a good person. I was just in the city and I didn't see any body :(. My sister used to live there and we never saw anybody famous. Except Will Smith when he was filming I am Legend. And she saw Robin Williams filming an episode of Law and Order. Well I guess we did see famous people, just not a lot.
