I just saved $283!!! (AND upgraded my resort!!!)

All by staying friends with my ex's mom

She and I have always been really really close (I'm not just using her for Disney, I'd NEVER do that.), and since she heard my friends and I were planning to go tent camping at the Fort in December, she called me up yesterday and offered some DVC points to get us at least a studio room somewhere!

After some negotiation (AKL was all full up ), we finally ended up getting a 1-bedroom at Saratoga Springs for all 4 of us.

I just sent out an email to my friends telling them that I cancelled our reservation, just so I can see their reactions before I tell them it's because we're staying at a Deluxe!

Just wanted to share my enthusiasm on here!! :sohappy:

Way to go! The only way to make a WDW trip better is to go on a WDW trip and save money!

Hope you have fun, that's really nice! I've never stayed there before, but I visited during my last trip and took some pics. The grounds are pretty!

Oh, too bad you won't get to camp at FW. :lol: Really. I love FW and I wish everyone would get a chance to experience it but if not then there is just more room for me. SS is a beautiful resort, I just didn't feel the Disney feeling there, I felt too far removed, like I was just anywhere but WDW, just my opinion.

We were really looking forward to camping, and it is something I'd love to do (maybe in the fall, though, when it's not so cold, and maybe when we don't have to stress over the cost and weight of bringing our tent and supplies on the plane with us!). A fall trip would be great for camping, I imagine

Fall would be really nice. When you are there try to travel over to FW and roam around, you will see what I mean about it being wonderfully peaceful, spacious, friendly and clean. If you like camping and the outdoors you will appreciate FW.

Good for you and your friends! I'm still close to my ex's mom, so I can relate. Too bad she isn't a DVC member, though.
