Just tried to keep up with negative thread titles that have been appearing on this site as of lately.

Anywho, The parks have been packed these past couple days at the parks, just check out some of the wait times from today here....

That nameless irish pub opening up in Pleasure Island has finally been given a handle... it's name is Raglan Road. And should be opening up quite shortly.

2005 Night of Joy tickets will be going on sale within' the next week thru 407- wdisney.

Yet another reason not to stay at the non-Disney owned Swan and Dolphin, they're going to start charging $7 to self-park your car and just add that to their $10 resort fee.
What a deal!!!

Disney Dining Experience is offering an oppurtunity to have a 5 -course meal at Bistro de Paris with world-renowned chef Paul Bocuse on April 23rd and 24th. The price is a $150 per person which includes 6 wine pairings.

And finally guests staying at Disney's Vero Beach Resort have been receiving letters stating that roof construction will be occuring from April 4th till September 9th. Guests will experience heavy noise and visible construction between those dates so if you have a trip planned you might want to rethink Hilton Head.

Anyway, that concludes Dr. Teeth's latest crapfest news report from WDW. ENJOY!!!

Authentic Irish Pub to Open at Downtown Disney

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Irish hospitality and a bit of blarney will be coming to Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort in the form of Raglan Road, an authentic Irish pub and restaurant. Scheduled to open in summer 2005, Raglan Road will feature the very best of Irish food, flair, heritage and entertainment.

The Irish culture is known for its warmth, character and hospitality, and the new Downtown Disney pub promises to deliver an experience immersed in genuine Irish atmosphere -- from food and drink to music and entertainment.

Raglan Road will be warm and welcoming with one-of-a-kind fixtures and furnishings -- all designed and built in Ireland by Irish craftspeople. Additional décor items include Irish antiques and bric-a-brac.

Traditional and contemporary Irish music, storytelling and dance will help create a lively social ambience and the friendly pub staff will bring Emerald Isle charm to Downtown Disney.

The restaurant's gastronomic delights will be the work of Chef Kevin Dundon, one of Ireland's best-known chefs. He will introduce a menu that blends traditional Irish fare and fresh ingredients, all with a modern flair. Chef Dundon's credits include cooking for celebrities and heads of state, overseeing deluxe international hotel cuisine, opening a premiere hotel and restaurant, and appearing in his own television series.

"We are thrilled to introduce an authentic Irish pub to Downtown Disney," said Ed Baklor, vice president of Downtown Disney. "The superior level of quality, energy and appeal that this new venue brings is a perfect compliment to Downtown Disney's lineup of world-class retail, dining and entertainment."

Raglan Road will be owned and operated by Great Irish Pubs Florida, Inc., the Irish-owned company that previously created Nine Fine Irishmen at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

"We are working extremely hard here in Ireland preparing to deliver what we believe will be the very best expression of Irish hospitality ever seen in the U.S.," said Paul Nolan, one of the establishment's co-owners. "We are extremely proud and excited to have the opportunity to bring a real slice of Ireland to Downtown Disney."

Raglan Road will occupy the building that formerly housed The Jazz Company. Pleasure Island club admission will not be required for entrance to the pub.

Hm, what lousy news for me. I do occasionally stay at the Swan and Dolphin -- however, more frequently, my family will use the Swan and Dolphin parking lot as our Epcot / MGM parking lot. We simply find it more enjoyable (and usually more convenient) to park the vehicle at the resort and walk / run to the parks rather than use the 'official' parking lot and take the tram. If many other guests do the same, perhaps this fee is a response to this.

Then again, it is possible to park at the other resorts in the same area with a little guile: Simply indicate to the parking lot guard that you're interested in the resort restaurants. You'll be able to park, but I think they only issue a temporary pass -- with an interesting exception: We've found that if the guard notes you're currently staying at another deluxe resort, he may relax the policy.

Does anyone else have good resort parking tips? For instance, I have a cast member friend who has observed that anyone can park in the Grand Floridian parking lot, since CMs occupy the same lot with no parking permit.

Tips? Sounds more like a way to get more bank for less buck. Just buy a pass and not have to worry about it. As a side note to the Grand Floridian...
they will be under strict parking as well as the Poly and Contemp. this weekend.

Post the line up Dr. I know you have it.

Most Orlando area convention hotels charge for parking....and most have a resort fee....except for the Marriotts....they charge for parking, but Marriott does not allow resort fees.

I haven't heard anything in regaurds to Off Kilter playing there but I think they'd make a terrific house band. The only problem I'd see with them playing at Raglan Road is they'd have to cut some of their shows from the World Showcase.

But, nonetheless, sounds like a great idea and would give a significant and much needed boost to PI.

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
Authentic Oirish pub? Well ill look forward to the whip rounds for the "cause" and the knee cappings and regular kickings at closing time then if its capturing the real deal.

I would imagine that it would really be on a very irregular basis and probably on the nights when they arent playing EPCOT at all!! Luckily enough for Disney that would be on Friday & Saturday nights of most weeks. I would think alternating them with something a bit more traditional would be really cool!!! OK are great showmen and fabulous musicians, I really cant say enough great things about them, but not every person I know prefers their take on some of the old traditional classics!!! Belle

One of the gentleman from the band, Mark Weldon, the bass player/vocalist thought it was a good idea as well. I hope they do that would be awesome!!!! I went to go see them this year at An Tobar in Maitland FL for St Patrick's day. These guys were AMAZING!!!!!! Id love to see the occasional show like that in Raglan Road!!!!! Belle
