im a truck driver and im delivering at 7 in the morning in orlando, about 2 minutes from universal and only 15 MINUTES FROM DISNEY!

ihave nowhere to park my truck. no rest stops, truck stops, huge untowable parking lots, nothing. excuse me for a second while i wipe away a few tears.......

ok. i could go to mvmcp tonight, or spend the day at the magic kingdom tomorrow, but no. nowhere to leave my truck.

i wonder how much disney would charge me to park an 18-wheeler in their lot......................

I don't see where he's complaining about his job, just the fact that he didn't think he had anywhere to park to go to the MK.

wow, i detect a hint of hate in the air on this one.

maybe i should clarify a bit for those of you who largest vehicle ever driven was a station wagon with a 30 foot rv behind it, lol.

as drivers of the biggest things on the road, we cannot simply drive to a place and worry about parking or manuvering later. when your tractor is 25 feet long and your trailer is 53 feet long, not to mention over 13 feet tall and 80 thousand pounds, we have to be ABSOLUTLY SURE that where we are going can accept us, or have a place big enough to turn around in. i for one have been to disney many many times, but always in a car, therefore i never bothered to look to see if i can get under the parking gates, or clear overhead wires and such. how many times have you driven to your local supermarket or mall and thought about if a tractor trailer can make the turns you just did without taking out a wall or stop sign?

although i dont doubt anything of what was said, i just never took notice of trucks in the lots. i always thought we were relegated to the backstage delivery areas. wish i knew i could park there sooner.

no!!:brick::cry:

next time, tho.

P.s. the double decker busses, (at least in america) are 13 foot 6, same as us. they look taller because of the way they are laid out , but nothing taller then 13'6" are allowed on us highways east of the mississippi, except for oversive loads, which as we all seen requires a special escort vehicle.

i did see the seaworld fireworks from the truck stop i was at, rt 440 i think, orange blossom trail i think it was called. i could even hear people screaming from the roller coaster.

do i need a park addmission ticket AND a mvmcp ticket to get into the xmas party? i was thinking of going if i knew i could get in with this truck.

a statement and a question

Statement: WishIWasThere is half right, depending on when you try to enter the park. a MVMCP admission isn't a valid substitute for an "all-day" ticket, but starting at 4pm, people can enter the parks using the special event tickets.

Question: The truck stop where you parked and saw the SeaWorld fireworks...is it a safe place to leave your truck, if you wanted, and cab it over to WDW? as others have said, I believe there are places and prices for oversize vehicles to park, even trucks your size. But if that truck stop is OK to leave your ride for any given length of time, maybe it'll be easier to just get a cab. Certainly bound to be less stressful when it comes to leaving the park, with all those bleary-eyed half-conscious guests who drove to the park trying to drive out at the same time. Even if you're alert and ready to go, you're dealing with thousands of people who aren't at the top of their game. What I'd recommend, personally, is taking a cab to the Contemporary and walking to MK from there, and at closing walking back to the Contemporary and ordering a cab from there. Of course, assuming you can leave your truck at that stop for the duration of your MK trip.

actually i thought about the cab, but i wouldnt trust the truck where it was alone. if something were to happen to it id be responible, and when i have a 2 million doller load of electronics on board, thats ALOT of responsibility, lol.

I worked in parking while in the College Program. I have seen and parked 18 wheelers in the lot without running into any problems clearing the toll plaza or overhead wires. When parking you will be directed to face the opposite direction of passenger traffic (i.e. if the parking spots and cars are facing north/south you will park east/west across multiple spots) and at the end of the isle so you can pull out directly into the exit lane.
