Not to sound like a jerk but since you were sick for three days after eating the burger it was almost for sure not food poisoning. Considering how many people you encountered on vacation you most likely just picked something up. Pretty much every disease known to man is circulating around orlando lol. Also food poisoning tends to be more wide scale than just one person getting sick and there havne't been any other reports from dino burger lately.

Just make sure you wash your hands. you dont know where peoples hands have been.

This is a MUST nowdays more than ever. I got sick one time after visiting Disney, and man was that not fun. Problem is, if you're not careful, getting sick is so easy.

As others stated, you didn't get food poisoning. Food poisoning is generally over within 24 hours. If it lasted longer then you picked up a bug from someone.

My daughter bites her nails sometimes, and it makes me nuts when I see her sticking her fingers to her mouth when she gets off a ride like the Carousel, etc.

Why isn't it food poisoning if it lasts 3 days? Is it just poison then?

I vomited for three days after eating packets of 25 cent Japanese ramen. I didn't do anything but vomit. It was my first time eating instant noodles and I didn't have anymore until a decade later.

Biology certainly isn't my specialty, but can you even get food poisoning from a veggie burger? I thought it was generally from improperly handled/cooked meat.

I really doubt it was the noodles that made you sick. Just because "B" happens after "A" does not mean that "A" caused "B."

You can get food poisoning from almost any food. Food poisoning is caused by Salmonella bacteria. If you have been watching the news lately you would have seen mention about it coming from bean sprouts. A couple of years ago there was that whole Spinach recall because of it.

Yep yep yep now I remember. I remember there was a big to-do when I worked at McDonald's in high school and we didn't have tomatoes for something like a month.

Food poisoning isn't just caused from Salmonella although this is one of the most popular ways to get it. You can also get Ecoli, botulism, etc. There are hundreds of types.

*Bump*

Letting people know to be extra careful when eating at Universal parks. This hasn't happened (yet) to us, but still, check for signs of poorly cooked food products.

Thanks to the OP for letting us know.

Seriously? What was the point of bumping this thread? And telling people to be "extra careful when eating at Universal" - so they should there but nothing will happen at Disney? It was already said that this probably wasn't a case of food poisoning.

Yes, Universal sucks and they will purposely not cook your food right. Keep an eye out, folks.

Said by who? People on the forum who don't know this person personally and really have NO idea whether it was food poisoning or not?

Hmm, maybe I should have recommended my grandfather to this website when he found out he had cancer. Maybe one of you genius doctors could have saved his life.

Don't tell the OP whether they had food poisoning or not, you're ignorant to their situation.

Food poisoning typically doesn't last longer than 24 hours, as pointed out by multiple posters in here. It could have been anything. It's very easy to pick up a bad sorta bug around Orlando theme parks.

But anyways, I'm not trying to say anything against the OP. If it was food poisoning, ok, it happens. You can get food poisoning anywhere... not just freakin' Universal. Crockett came in here and bumped a nearly three week old thread to tell people they need to be "EXTRA CAREFUL" when eating Universal food (likely due to some kind of grudge he holds against Universal). Read his post again. That's a totally ridiculous thing to say. :brick: If I need to be "extra careful" eating at Universal, then I need to be "extra careful" eating anything from any kind of restaurant in the world. Including Disney parks.

"Typically". Thank you. But there's an exception to every rule, correct? Everyone coming in here saying that the OP DID NOT have food poisoning is completely ignorant.

Alright, I agree with you. You can get food poisoning anywhere. So why is it wrong for Crockett to specify to be careful at a UNIVERSAL park, in a UNIVERSAL thread? All Crockett said was to be careful. How was he implying that Disney is better in anyway, by talking about Universal in a Universal thread? Disney has no place here, along with any other place of business. Why would he say "be careful at Universal... and Disney... and Denny's... and KFC..... and Publix.... and Chili's.... and Outback", when those have nothing to do with the subject at hand? This whole thread is about... once again... UNIVERSAL. So there was no need for him to bring Disney into this discussion.

You don't need to assume he hates Universal. It's not your place. You thought you had an argument, I guess because you're bored for whatever reason, to call him out on disliking Universal, and liking Disney more. You were out of line.

I have had food poisoning before...it is not fun. The main thing to remember is that here are many forms of food poisoning ...all with different incubation periods. Unless there was a group of people that all got sick at the same time, and they had all ONLY eaten at one spot together...it's very difficult to pinpoint where the illness was contracted.

I AM 22 BUT when i went to universal at 19 i seen a mother spray the handle bars with the spray antibacterial of jurrasic park ride and i was like what is she doing? then i thought what a nexcellent idea just keep your hands washed and you should be good. I know alot about food poisiing it is most likely caused by E COLI or salmenella posining. Most food poisoning symptoms are gone within 12 to 28 hours. IN severe cases they can last 7 up to 10 days but any time after 28 hours you should see a doctor

You can get food poisoning anywhere, including your own kitchen if you purchase something that is contaminated, and you don't wash/prepare it properly. Or if it is marked as prewashed, but they didn't do a good job. (as with some packaged salad a few years ago.)

I wouldn't expect Universal restaurants to be any more or less likely to cause food poisoning than another restaurant someplace else. So I wouldn't worry for a single moment about eating there.
