I got a Sillouhette!!

Hi everyone!! Tomorrow is my birthday and ddh got me a Quickutz Silouhette!! Isn't he so sweet? I started messing around with it today and it's awesome!!

It's like a cricut minus the cartridges. So I can't cut those adorable little Disney characters, but I can use any font on my computer!!

Now I have got to get going on the challenge for this week!:sohappy:

Okay I got something else really cool for my birthday! My friend made this for my birthday!! It's so cute! I don't know if she took a class or made it herself but I love it!!

I have a feeling you all would get along well with my mother. She and her friends always make things like the above picture for each others' birthdays. She loves scrapbooking, rubber stamping, altered books, and all sorts of other artsy stuff. I don't know all of the types of projects she makes, but she's written articles (or something) for scrapbooking and/or stamping magazines before.

By the way, what exactly is a Sillouhette? (Besides the obvious...)

it is suppose to be a machine that hooks to your computer, and you can print and i think cut out different fonts. not sure about what else it does.

I'm working on my page!!!! I've almost gotten the hang of it.

Eagles is right, you hook it up to your computer and it cuts shapes, words, etc. It will cut any .ttf font and any .gsd file.

Your mom's written articles for magazines? You're holding out on us Figment!!

Yea, so after I posted this I realized that maybe it may be taken the wrong way. I am in no way disrespecting your mother, figment. I am just teasing you because I still feel like I'm 20 even though I am a mother, too.

After all, we all love Disney here, so that makes us young at heart, which is all that matters anyways. Believe me, I have class with plenty of twenty-somethings that are all about eighty years old. Staunch, boring folks they are...

I finished my first page with the Silhouette! It's not overly exciting. I haven't glued everything down yet, so I'll do that today and snap a pic!
