I don't know if anyone in here likes fish or aquariums but I thought Id post my new 10 gallon. I originally had them in 3 seperate bowls. Now they've got more room and filtered water. NO MORE CLEANING BOWLS EVERY WEEK lol.

Anywho here are the pics.

I also pick up a snail to keep them company. His name is Gary lol.

Lol. I bet Gary would be flattered!

BTW my bettas are in the tank there. They're just blending in with the back round. Memnoch is on the far right, Zero is in the middle and Maynard is on the left....he's the hardest to see though, and the other one on the right in the bowl is eleven.

Josh--are they separated? We got one at Christmas and were told that male bettas will fight each other to the death, so we only have one.

Yeah those big black things are tank dividers. ;) Woody caught on hehe. I wouldn't subject my fishies to violent deaths by nibbling lol. :)

Get a buddy for your bettta and put their bowls side by side. They'll flare at each other for hours. It's really good excercise for them. Every time I walk into the fish store I end up with another lol. They're great fish and as insane as I sound...they've all got different personalities.

They've all died.

Memnoch is going on a year and four months. :p

Caring for them really is alot of work. Another reason they die on alot of people is because they're already sick or diseased when people get them from pet shops. You're better off getting them at a specialty aquarium store or from a breeder. Although I've gotten all mine at pet stores lol. It's just a matter of picking the healthy looking one and then medicating him for a week or so to make sure.

Or maybe youre just a bad fish person Nim :p ;)

I also have three bettas! But they each have their own one gallon tanks because they're spoiled and must have water with a pH of 7, so they can't go in my big tank. They are: Manfred, he's red, the first fish I ever got who gets sick all the time, but keeps on going; Gollum, he's blue and very big and hungry; Nemo, red & blue, named after Captain Nemo, NOT clownfish Nemo, has spikey fins.

Cool :D

I never bother with the whole PH/perfection of water thing. I just put the stuff to neutralize the chlorine in the tap water, heat to around 75-80 degrees and thats it. And theyre very happy and healthy. :) And now that I have Gary he will contribute to keeping things clean hehe.

My guys had their own individual bowls...around a gallon each. But I didn't like having to deal with weekly water changes. And they would start to stink with in a couple days. This way in the tank theyre at least nice and close and can flare all they want lol. I just bought some plant bulbs for the tank today so they'll have places to hide....not to mention it's also more food for Gary. :D

I don't know if you have any plants in your bettas bowls but I hear Java moss is good to have with bettas. But I have no idea where I can get it. I cant find it at any shops. You have any idea where I can find it?

Nice tank. I have several, but no Bettas. They wouldn't stand a chance in any of my tanks. Too many Cichlids and too many other fin nippers. Plus i run canister filters which create significant water currents, which most Bettas can't tolerate.

Watch Gary closely, most snails produce more waste than they remove, also they can be destructive to decorations and plants (especially live ones).

It looks as though Gary may be a Ramshorn snail, is he?

No he's a black mystery.

I have live plants in there that havent grown yet...but I put them in there specifically for the snail so it's no biggy. Most people I talk to on line at fish message boards and stuff have snails in their betta tanks. There arent many other fish or critters you can put with bettas so it's usually a snail or some sort of small bottom feeding fish. I wish I could put some danios in there but the small sections of my tank are much to small for them seeing as how they like to school.

If my fourth betta starts acting normal sometime soon (hasnt eaten in two days since we got him) I may get a 10 gallon for him alone and put a few danios or coris in there.

*edit* I should also mention that I feed Gary his own diet...he's not feedong soely off of plants and tank algae. So hopefully he'll be full enough and my plants can grow all nice and perty lol.
