Pre-Trip I get to spend my 40th at WDW!!! a Nov. PTR

My husband and I just decided that we could swing a quick trip to WDW to celebrate my 40th birthday!! We will also be celebrating our 15th anniversary a little early while we are there! (Our anniversary isn't until Dec. 19)

Who: Me (Amy) and my husband Brian
When: Nov. 19-23, 2013
Where: Pop Century

Here we are at WDW on our honeymoon:

And celebrating our 10th anniversary:

And during our most recent trip together in Oct. 2011:

We have to be very budget minded this trip, as I am taking Brian to Atlanta the week before this trip to see a Falcons game for his 40th birthday (which is not until January, but no regular season games then, so we are going in Nov.)! Not to mention that Christmas is not too long after, and we haven't been saving since this is a last minute decision! So, no MVMCP this trip!:(

We do have the free quick service dining plan that I think we will upgrade to the regular dining plan. It just depends on what TS we finally decide on doing.

Plans: Nov. 19- spend the day at DTD (I cannot wait to get a Disney Vera Bradley bag!!) and dinner at
'Ohana. I was able to get an 8:30pm ADR. I am going to continue to look for one a little earlier, but I felt pretty lucky to get the one I did!

Nov. 20- MK- Nutella fruit waffle for breakfast, BOG for lunch, and I'm not sure what we will do for dinner yet

Nov. 21- Epcot- lunch at Via Napoli (we plan to share a pepperoni pizza), undecided on breakfast and dinner.

Nov. 22(my actual birthday!!)- AK in the morning and DHS in the afternoon and evening. Not sure what we will do for breakfast, but plan lunch at Starring Rolls, and I have booked a Mama Melrose's Fantasmic! Dinner Package at 4:55pm. I'm not sure if we will keep the dinner ADR or not.

Nov. 23- breakfast at Kona Cafe and I'm not sure what we will do the rest of the day.

We had originally planned to drive, but my mom mentioned that she might be willing to buy the tickets for us to fly as my birthday present, so we are still working on those details!

I am looking forward to hopefully getting to try out the MagicBands and FP+ this trip, so I am more familiar with them for our family trip in June.

I can't think of a better way to spend my birthday than getting to ride TOT and EE!! (OK, it would be better if the kids could be with us!)

Well, I feel like it is official now! I purchased airline tickets this evening, so we are definitely going!!! I can't wait! We are flying Southwest this time out of Columbus. We normally fly Airtran out of Dayton, but they have apparently eliminated the nonstop flights during the "slow" season. What would normally be a 2 hr flight would now turn into a 4 1/2 flight with a layover in Atlanta. I think we will just get up early and drive to Columbus! And by early I mean we have to leave the house at about 4:30am. The flight leaves at 7:20 and we have about an hour and a half drive (probably a little less since we will be driving in the wee hours of the morning), then time to park, then through security, etc. Not to mention that I am not familiar with the Columbus airport, as the last time we flew out of it was in 1998 for our honeymoon!

How exciting!!!!! Jealous that you get to be there on your actual bday! Very cool :) Plus holiday décor - even better! It definitely takes on an official feel once transportation is squared away...especially air travel. Sorry for the longer drive, but at least it means no layover. That's one of my biggest fears with our upcoming travel. Can't wait to see the TR!

Thank you! I can't wait to show my hubby the holiday decorations since he didn't get to go with me last December.

I ordered it through etsy. She doesn't have another one on there right now, but if you convo her she may be able to do one for you. Her shop is MegsSparklingDreams. Congrats on your 25 years! Have a great trip!

Exciting! So much fun to fly! I love a good road trip, but nothing better than spending more time at Disney & less time on the road! Loved reading about the airports. My dad grew up in Middletown and my mom grew up in Worthington, so I am familiar with both of those airports! :-)

I really wasn't looking forward to driving, but if it meant we got to go to WDW, then I was going to do it! Luckily my mom decided to be generous!

We've made a few changes to our plans. I was talking to Brian yesterday about the plan for the first day. I originally thought we would go to DTD and eat lunch, shop, and check out DisneyQuest with our free passes since we have never been. Well, Brian said he didn't really care if we went to DQ, so I called Disney and added another day to our tickets and dropped the park hopper. So, the new plan is to hit AK on arrival day. I am very happy about this, as I was worried about how rushed we were going to be on Friday morning at AK and trying to get to DHS for the afternoon and evening. Now we can take our time and enjoy all the little details at AK instead of just rushing to ride KS and EE. Now we will be at DHS all day on my birthday, so the new plan is to have a breakfast cupcake at Starring Rolls, Fantasmic package lunch at 12:20 at Mama Melrose's, then we will grab a CS dinner somewhere, see Fantasmic at 6:30, then see the Osborne Lights until park closing. I am very pleased with these changes!

Yay!!! I just got done picking our FP+ choices! Now, we just need to be able to customize our bands!! I'm sure I will go in multiple times before our trip and change things around, but so excited to get this done today! I had a really crappy day at work, so this made my day!!

I was able to customize our bands this morning!! It says I have until Oct. 20 to customize, so I don't know if they will wait that long to ship them or not. Guess we'll wait and see! I got a red one and Brian got a blue one. I'm excited to try them and FP+ out now, so I'll be better prepared in June for our extended family trip. Now I just need to figure out my resort reservation ID number so I can get a BOG lunch FP+. The confirmation number doesn't work, as I already tried that. I need to call this weekend and finish paying anyway, I guess I will ask then.
