Pre-Trip I get to spend my 40th at WDW!!! a Nov. PTR

My husband and I just decided that we could swing a quick trip to WDW to celebrate my 40th birthday!! We will also be celebrating our 15th anniversary a little early while we are there! (Our anniversary isn't until Dec. 19)

Who: Me (Amy) and my husband Brian
When: Nov. 19-23, 2013
Where: Pop Century

Here we are at WDW on our honeymoon:

And celebrating our 10th anniversary:

And during our most recent trip together in Oct. 2011:

We have to be very budget minded this trip, as I am taking Brian to Atlanta the week before this trip to see a Falcons game for his 40th birthday (which is not until January, but no regular season games then, so we are going in Nov.)! Not to mention that Christmas is not too long after, and we haven't been saving since this is a last minute decision! So, no MVMCP this trip!:(

We do have the free quick service dining plan that I think we will upgrade to the regular dining plan. It just depends on what TS we finally decide on doing.

Plans: Nov. 19- spend the day at DTD (I cannot wait to get a Disney Vera Bradley bag!!) and dinner at
'Ohana. I was able to get an 8:30pm ADR. I am going to continue to look for one a little earlier, but I felt pretty lucky to get the one I did!

Nov. 20- MK- Nutella fruit waffle for breakfast, BOG for lunch, and I'm not sure what we will do for dinner yet

Nov. 21- Epcot- lunch at Via Napoli (we plan to share a pepperoni pizza), undecided on breakfast and dinner.

Nov. 22(my actual birthday!!)- AK in the morning and DHS in the afternoon and evening. Not sure what we will do for breakfast, but plan lunch at Starring Rolls, and I have booked a Mama Melrose's Fantasmic! Dinner Package at 4:55pm. I'm not sure if we will keep the dinner ADR or not.

Nov. 23- breakfast at Kona Cafe and I'm not sure what we will do the rest of the day.

We had originally planned to drive, but my mom mentioned that she might be willing to buy the tickets for us to fly as my birthday present, so we are still working on those details!

I am looking forward to hopefully getting to try out the MagicBands and FP+ this trip, so I am more familiar with them for our family trip in June.

I can't think of a better way to spend my birthday than getting to ride TOT and EE!! (OK, it would be better if the kids could be with us!)

I had an awesome day today! I started the morning by checking southwest.com and ended up with a $116 credit to use on our flights for our June trip. There were 4 days in the month of November that they were offering one way fares under $100. What were the odds that I would be traveling on one of those days? Well, I was and the fare was $90 per person!! Then, when I checked the mail, I had two types of Mickey mail waiting for me:

Only 35 more days!! And I should be getting my MagicBands this time next week. Can't wait!

Ah !! I got to use the same deal with SW Air!! The cost savings was over 300 dollars since there were 3 of us originally flying in, and when I added the extra night, it must have put me in a lower rate category because I went from and avg of 259/nite to 232/nite so it was a wash on that, no extra costs for an extra night except maybe a meal during our layover in New Orleans!
And did I read correctly ??? Very Bradley has disney bags out ???

Yes, Vera Bradley has Disney bags. Right now you can only get them at WOD in WDW and DL, but Monday they are scheduled to start being sold on disneystore.com. There are 2 patterns now, one with a pink background and one with a black background, but they have announced that there will soon be another with a navy background. I can't wait to buy one!! I am so tempted to order one Monday, but I am worried about the design placement (how horrible would it be to get one without Mickey and/or Minnie on the front!?!), so I'll probably wait until we are there!

28 days!! Yesterday, I received this
IMG_5604.JPG

and an email inviting me to help test MyMagic+. It said I had to customize my bands by Nov. 8, so I'm guessing that if I hadn't previously seen that I could do this, my window would still be open even though it previously said I had to customize by Oct. 19!?!
Then, I received these this morning.

My band doesn't fit very well. I think I am going to have to peel it out of the grey shell, but that makes me very nervous, as once you do that, you can't put it back. I guess I will just have to be brave and go for it!!

Awww this is Ace! I'm actually going to arrive on 19th November and will be staying for 2 weeks incorporating my 30th Birthday whilst we are there! It's on the 30th Nov!
You have same plans to us really 20th MK and we already planned our meals etc - we are so a plan ahead type of family, then we head to Epcot on 21st just like you :) the rest of the plans are so detailed it's too long to list!
We don't do much on the day of arrival as were still in our UK time of being 5 hours infront and we are super sleepy! So that rules out anything but sleep 19th !
I'm heading to watch the cirque du soleil on my birthday followed by dinner at Narcoossees! Never been either so excited!
Hope you. Have tons of fun! D

Only 20 more days!!! Thankfully, we have a lot going on the next few weeks, so hopefully the time will fly. I finally have a rough plan for each day.

Day 1 Tuesday, November 19
Our flight is scheduled to leave Columbus at 7:20am and arrive at MCO at 9:35am. We will then take DME to Pop Century and hopefully be able to drop our carry-ons off in our room. Then on to AK. Hopefully, we will get there early enough to eat lunch first. We will decide between Flame Tree BBQ and Yak and Yeti counter service once we get there. Then, we have FP+ at KS from 12-1. Then we will do the animal trails and anything else along the way to our EE FP+ from 1:40 to 2:40. I'm hoping that the wait times will be short enough that we can ride standby once and then use our FP+. Then it is on to Dinosaur to use our FP+ from 2:40 to 3:40. I'm going to leave it up to Brian whether we stay for the parade or not. He has never seen the Christmas version, but I have. Then we will take the bus to DTD so I can get my Vera Bradley bag and try to find a cute dated Christmas ornament. Then back to Pop if we have time to get ready for our 8:00 ADR at 'Ohana.

Day 2 Wednesday, November 20
We will start the day off with an 8:05am ADR at Crystal Palace. I have started a conversation with WDW about possibly getting a cake made for our anniversary for this meal. We'll see how that goes! I figure we should finish breakfast about the time the park opens, so we will start in Adventureland and work our way around. We don't have any FP+ until afternoon, so we will just do whatever we want in the morning. I really want to see the Jingle Cruise, just because it is new and I am curious! Otherwise, I'm sure we will do POTC, HM, and part of Fantasyland. We have a lunch FP+ at BOG at 12:30. Then we have a Splash FP+ from 2:20 to 3:20. I figured we would do that one during the warmest part of the day in case we get super wet! Then onto our Space FP+ from 3:20-4:20. I have no idea what we will do for dinner. We have FP+ for Big Thunder from 7 to 8. I don't really care if we see the parade or not, so it will depend on how much we were able to do earlier in the day. Then we will end the night with Wishes.

Day 3 Thursday, November 21
We likely will eat breakfast at POP and be at Epcot for rope drop. We plan to do TT standby first thing, then maybe SSE on the way to our Soarin' FP+ from 9:55-10:55. We will also fit in Living with the Land and Figment (only because it may be disappearing) +/- Nemo. We plan to head over to WS when it opens and hit up Gran Fiesta Tour on our way to use our Maelstrom FP+ from 11-12. (I keep watching in the hopes that I can switch this FP+ for preferred viewing of Illuminations, but I am not holding my breath!). Then we will work our way over to our 12:45 ADR at Via Napoli. Then we will just wander around the rest of WS and make it back to FW for our 6-7 FP+ for TT. I'm not sure what we will do for dinner. Then we will end our night with Illuminations.

Day 4 Friday, November 22 My 40th birthday!!
We will be at DHS for rope drop and will head over to ride ToT first (and second if I get my way!). Then we will use our FP+ for RnR from 9-10. Then we will go get my birthday breakfast cupcake at Starring Rolls! Then on to TSMM to use our 10-11 FP+. Then we will do whatever until our Fantasmic! package lunch ADR at Mama Melrose's at 12:20. Then whatever (hopefully to include a ride or two on ToT) for the afternoon, then we have a FP+ for ToT for 5-6. I'm hoping it will be dark by then, if not, we may have to ride it again after Fantasmic! Then we will go see Fantasmic! and end the night with the Osborne Lights.
Can you tell that ToT is my favorite? I'm not sure how many times I will be able to convince Brian to ride with me. He already asked me once, with a look of incredulity on his face, how many times I planned to ride!! He also didn't approve of my plan to have a cupcake for breakfast!:jawdrop: I told him in no uncertain terms that it was my birthday and he would eat whatever I told him to eat for breakfast!:D

Day 5 Saturday, November 23
We will unfortunately start our day off by using the resort airline check-in.:( We will then head to our 8:55 ADR at Kona. The rest of the day kind of depends on what we were or were not able to accomplish earlier in the week. We may go back to DTD if we need to do more shopping with lunch at Earl or Wolfgang Puck Express, or we may head over to Fantasia Gardens for some mini golf and lunch at Beaches and Cream. Then we will need to head back to POP to catch DME for our 6:15 flight back to Columbus.

I just got this in the mail today:
IMG_5656.JPG

I decided that I would need a bag that was bigger than my Vera Bradley hipster since I know I will want a jacket/sweatshirt for the mornings and evenings and I want to be able to carry it easily. I saw this on Etsy and knew I had to have it!

So excited that we only have 16 more days!! But disappointed that they are unable/unwilling to make a custom cake like I wanted. I was interested in a mini cake that incorporated the kissing Minnie and Mickey silhouette. This is what originally gave me the idea:
anniversary cake (1).jpg

Instead, they offered me an 8 in. cake with a white chocolate Minnie and Mickey. Oh well, more money to spend on Vera Bradley bags! (I have to find some sort of positive!:D)

Annoying that they wouldn't do the cake, but you get more bag $$$...always a GREAT thing!!! Sounds like lots of things are really coming together with the trip :)

So, one 40th birthday trip down! We just got back from our trip to Atlanta to celebrate Brian's birthday. Unfortunately, the Falcons lost big time, but otherwise we had a great time! Thanks to @englanddg for all the helpful hints on Atlanta. We caught the sunrise from the runway on Saturday morning:
IMG_5737.JPG

We got to experience:
IMG_5833.JPG

at The World of Coca Cola, which is their version of club Cool. I liked that they had the drinks separated into different continents. They had everyone's favorite:
IMG_5839.JPG

They also had a station for North America, as well as one for regular Coke:
IMG_5846.JPG

and Freestyle machines:

I took a toes picture in the Georgia Dome for @Disneyfalcon .

Only 8 more days until my trip!! I unpacked our suitcase from this weekend and left it out to start packing for WDW!

One Little Spark...
Glad to have helped! Where did you all end up eating?

Also, when at World of Coke, did you have a chance to check out the "Vault" section on the lower floor? I find that section extremely impressive!
