Pre-Trip I get to spend my 40th at WDW!!! a Nov. PTR

My husband and I just decided that we could swing a quick trip to WDW to celebrate my 40th birthday!! We will also be celebrating our 15th anniversary a little early while we are there! (Our anniversary isn't until Dec. 19)

Who: Me (Amy) and my husband Brian
When: Nov. 19-23, 2013
Where: Pop Century

Here we are at WDW on our honeymoon:

And celebrating our 10th anniversary:

And during our most recent trip together in Oct. 2011:

We have to be very budget minded this trip, as I am taking Brian to Atlanta the week before this trip to see a Falcons game for his 40th birthday (which is not until January, but no regular season games then, so we are going in Nov.)! Not to mention that Christmas is not too long after, and we haven't been saving since this is a last minute decision! So, no MVMCP this trip!:(

We do have the free quick service dining plan that I think we will upgrade to the regular dining plan. It just depends on what TS we finally decide on doing.

Plans: Nov. 19- spend the day at DTD (I cannot wait to get a Disney Vera Bradley bag!!) and dinner at
'Ohana. I was able to get an 8:30pm ADR. I am going to continue to look for one a little earlier, but I felt pretty lucky to get the one I did!

Nov. 20- MK- Nutella fruit waffle for breakfast, BOG for lunch, and I'm not sure what we will do for dinner yet

Nov. 21- Epcot- lunch at Via Napoli (we plan to share a pepperoni pizza), undecided on breakfast and dinner.

Nov. 22(my actual birthday!!)- AK in the morning and DHS in the afternoon and evening. Not sure what we will do for breakfast, but plan lunch at Starring Rolls, and I have booked a Mama Melrose's Fantasmic! Dinner Package at 4:55pm. I'm not sure if we will keep the dinner ADR or not.

Nov. 23- breakfast at Kona Cafe and I'm not sure what we will do the rest of the day.

We had originally planned to drive, but my mom mentioned that she might be willing to buy the tickets for us to fly as my birthday present, so we are still working on those details!

I am looking forward to hopefully getting to try out the MagicBands and FP+ this trip, so I am more familiar with them for our family trip in June.

I can't think of a better way to spend my birthday than getting to ride TOT and EE!! (OK, it would be better if the kids could be with us!)

Glad to have helped! Where did you all end up eating?

Also, when at World of Coke, did you have a chance to check out the "Vault" section on the lower floor? I find that section extremely impressive!
We ended up flying in early Sat. and stayed at Embassy Suites. We had lunch on Sat. at the aquarium. Not exciting, but we were there and starving because our flight left at 6:55am. I wasn't feeling well Sat. afternoon, so we ended up at the CNN Center food court for dinner so I could have chicken noodle soup from Chick-fil-a. We ate lunch on Sun. at Taco Mac inside the stadium. We then found Ted's Montana Grill for dinner on Sun. I had bison chili and Brian had the Madison bison burger (it had arugula, goat cheese, and a raspberry flavored sauce). Both were delicious, as were the onion rings.
We did check out the vault section. We were also impressed with it.

They finally opened up Illuminations for FP+ on the day we will be there! I figured they might not since it is a Thursday, but I checked again today and was able to do it! I had to do a lot of playing around to get it to work though. It wouldn't let me switch my Maelstrom FP+ to Illuminations, but it would let me switch my Test Track one. I didn't want to do it that way, but I couldn't just cancel them all and start over, because they have the new tiers at Epcot and you can only choose one tier 1 attraction (TT, Soarin', Maelstrom, and Illuminations are all tier 1). Finally, I figured out that if I switched my Maelstrom FP+ to an evening time slot, then I could change it over to Illuminations. They sure are making this whole FP+ thing harder than it should be!!
