Is that serious? I would love Eisners autograph. He's done nothing but good for the company even though many of you seem to think otherwise.

what in the world would you want Ice-ner's scribble on a photo for??? Well.....I guess I could use it to start a fire on those long and cold winter nights. Eisner's autograph....hahahahaha. What a useless dust collector that would be. If I were to request and autograph, it would be Mr. Roy E. Disney's.

not to burst anyones bubble....however Eisner will send you an 8x10 photograph with the autograph printed on there. he probably doesnt even know what the photograph looks like. however, the address is vaild, years ago i was able to recieve marc davis (RIP) and ward kimball (RIP); along with numorus animators and imagineers; Dave Smith (archivest and author) and also Roy E. Disney. but i just wanted to let people know, that if you are writting in Eisner, save your 37 cents as the "autograph" is not real.
thanks and have a great day!

The autograph would be real, it would have just been photo copied. Well, in my opinion, it is still cool to get a photo copied one. When I went to the Disney Studios my family got a couple autographed photos of the cast of Home Improvement, and I know those were photocopied, but still cool.

i agree 100%-without mikey boy disney would be owned right now by about 30 different owners-yes he has had some blunders but overall he has brought the disney company to levels of sucess that even walt couldnt fathom.

id like everyone who hates eisner to think about this-even walt disney(yes uncle walt) made bad business moves too and lots of times his brother roy the financial guru that he was fixed them.
funny i dont see any anti walt posts in here-a matter of fact eisner and disney had same characterisitcs.being cold at times, wanting total control of projects, and many other triats that are considered negative both walt and mike both share.

See, what you do is send a small notecard with your SASE and a letter requesting that the autograph be on the notecard. There's no way around getting the autograph that way. And I'd love Uncle Mike's autograph. He is an amazing man who saved the company. If not for him there would be no Walt Disney Company today. He's one of my heroes, who I'd like to pattern my life after. Here's to you Mike! :sohappy:

Ok, that was beyond rude. Not only was it uneducted, it was way uncalled for. Next time you're walking through Fantasyland, reliving your favorite Disney classic, thank Eisner. When you're at home sharing a treasured moment with your family around the television watching that Disney classic you just lived, thank Eisner. When you think of how amazing the imagineer's projects are, thank Eisner. My point? The Walt Disney Company exists today because of him. Sure he makes mistakes, but so did Walt. Maybe we should burn autographed copies of Walt's picture? It'd make good kindling too. Thinking before you speak. What a wise trait it is.

I may be making a mistake getting myself into this, BUT....
Yes, Walt and Eisner both did good things for the company, and they did both make mistakes. But in recent years, the Disney has become so much more corperate, and less friendly than it was in Walt's days. Everything is so expensive, and they try to cut the budget wherever they can- closed attractions, canceling early entry, reducing park hours. And along with the help of idiots like Paul Pressler, the state of cleanliness in the parks has gone down. (Don't believe me, visit wdwblues.com) Walt always believed in keeping the place clean and upkept, and frankly they need to do a better job. And while you could argue, "well, Michael Eisner is not responsible for that." The fact is that as the CEO and president of the company, he is.

So, to summarize, Michael Eisner may have saved Disney from a crisis and he may have made a lot of other good decisions, he isn't half the man Walt was. I constantly find myself reading through all the cost cutting that they are doing and saying, "Walt would not have been happy about this." He financed Snow White with his own money, if it had failed, so would have he. And here is today's corporate Disney shutting down attractions to save a few bucks. What a shame.:(

Anyway, I apologize in advance if I've offended anyone. I don't hate Eisner (Pressler is another story), but he'll never be anywhere near as special as Walt was.

From someone who has seen Eisner's mis-managements in person, I really can't describe my opinions of Mr. Eisner on these boards accurately because it would violate about 7 community standards here. However, I will say this:

Eisner did not do a damn thing for the company. In fact, he was a plague the second he walked in the door. Basically, with the help of Frank Wells, he got a bunch of creative and talented people in to rebuild Disney. Well, after Frank Wells died they then had to answer directly to Eisner, and he pretty much ed everyone off and they ran for the competition as hard and as fast as they could. Now Eisner is a -poor micro-manager (look at the bread tours that he thought was a neccessity for DCA), and when he is not screwing up someone else's project, one of the cronies he hired to replace the former talent he ran off does.

And that doesn't even touch on the BILLIONS he has squandered on useless aqquisitions that were needed to feed his monster EGO , or the hundreds of millions in lawsuits that have stimmed from the lack of creativity on his part or his horrendous mismanagement. What is even more pathetic is that under the new "accounting rules" most, if not all, of this money was written off as "charges" or whatever the hell the excuse was. As much as it pains me to say this (I'm a Disney shareholder, even after I sold most of my shares and watched my remaining shares lose over half of their value), I CAN'T WAIT for the SEC to come knocking on Mr. Eisner's door. If they have the balls to crack down on AOL, then they certainly will probe into Disney, which is the POSTER CHILD for corrupt management!

>>>Next time you're walking through Fantasyland, reliving your favorite Disney classic, thank Eisner. Oh geez, what is he supposed to be, God? Just be sure to thank Eisner when Disney is broken off in three seperate companies.
