Can we PLEASE put a stop to senseless thread starting. I'm talking about the threads that make absolutely no sense. The ones you have to read twice cause you think you may have missed the question. Or the ones that are just one long paragraph with no breaks making it hard to read. Can we establish a rule that says you are not allowed to start a new thread unless you have posted more than 100 replies? Please?

And please search for your answer before starting a thread that was maybe posted just yesterday. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just kind of tired of these sorts of threads. Please THINK about what you are posting before you post it. Make sure its at least a QUESTION or NEWS. Please dont lock my thread, I'm not trying to be mean or start a riot. I just wanted to get my point across.

Maybe I found the reason we dont hear from Grizz anymore?:(

hmm

I hate to sound like one of the nasty people but you did exactly what you are ranting about.

Why not report the threads instead of starting new topics to complain about them?

I do understand what she's talking about though.
For example, the fire at DTD the other day - 4 threads were started about it within the first few hours. Then they preface the thread with "I don't know if this has ben mentioned, but...." . Hello! Read "new Posts" or do a search or whatever!!!!

*end of rant*

Can I have a happy pill too? :o

Ok, I understand completely the point you are trying to make; however, I have been around this board for a long time but don't post often because I Do know how to use the search tool. The great thing about this site is you can usually get your questions answered before you ask.

So for 100 replies? Not so sure that is the problem.

I think some of it is a matter of folks just being excited to get something "new" on the site (while not necessarily accurate).

I'll take one of those pills if you think it will help? :lookaroun

I agree with the part about some threads not making sense. I can put up with a few spelling mistakes....I make plenty of those myself. But lately I have noticed a few posters who use alot of run on sentences and do not make themselves clear. The double posting thing does not seem to bother me as much. Yes, I agree that people should search first....but sometimes double posting is not intentional. It is just not a big deal to me if I click on a post that is similar or the same to another earlier post. The trivial amount of time this wastes me (seconds) just is not worth getting upset over.

Reporting these does absolutely nothing. I was just venting as well as ask people to just think about what they are about to post and seeing if anyone felt the same.

I read a post the other day that had soooo many spelling errors it was hard to read. I make spelling mistakes also but some people need hooked on phonics.

Let me first say that I agree with some of the others by saying when you created THIS thread, you're guilty of what you're complaining about.

I don't think not allowing people with 100 or less posts to start a thread will help (some might say you have a considerable low amount of posts as well). I would say people who've been posting here for ages are guilty of the same thing.

I would say get over the spelling mistakes. I've seen a few posts, obviously started by someone rather young, that have had rude responses criticizing their spelling. Some of these posters are kids - give 'em a break. Or at least don't be so abrasive in correcting them.

I do have to say that I agree with Fishy about four people creating threads for something that has just recently been posted somewhere else. It might help if people put their main subject in their "title" line - that way once people do a search for "DTD fire" they're more likely to see it and not create their own thread. Or, people just need to start using the search tool in the first place...:lookaroun

*passes DizzneyPricess non-crazy pills*
*takes some for myself*
*hands the rest to Fishy*

I would NEVER be mean enough to correct a childs spelling errors. I read a thread that had adults "laughing" at the OP which was obiviously a younger person. That I think is just cruel.

The only reason my posts are low is because I dont have enough time to devote to this site as I would like. If I could I would be on all day. This is my FAVORITE Disney site, thats why I am frustrated with whats being posted. I'm also sick of people constantly flaming people.

I understand what your saying, but I saw a lot of people disagree with you. You just have to remember, some people like to argue about everything because they have nothing better to do. Next time you see an annoying post, or a senseless one, either skip it, or report it. Don't get yourself all worked up. See ya'

Talking about WDW is supposed to be fun & if it becomes annoying because people are making errors or double posting, maybe it's time for a break!:o
If I come across a thread that has already been discussed, I will usually read the question or statement it to see if anyone else has any new ideas or info.
If the thread seems too long & I am not interested, I just won't read it.

Life is short...have fun!!!

Vent away. At least we feel "at home" enough on this site to be able to say how we feel. Everyone gets frustrated every now and then.

The unfortunate thing, is the people that need to be reminded about posting 4 different threads on the same topic, probably aren't reading this one.
