September 15, 2013 - Out to sea just my sweetness 'n me.
Anyone familiar with my cruise reports knows I like to start each day with the front cover of the daily Navigator. The daily Navigator is a paper leaflet that contains hours for most venues & services, info about goings on for the day, and the schedule of activities and events. Well, our sailing on the Fantasy was the 2nd of 2 cruises that tested a new app version of the Navigator. I LOVED it! I wrote a pretty detailed description and uploaded pics
HERE in case you're interested. ((Scroll down on page 2 for the meat 'n potatoes.)) Very impressed. I'll be starting my cruise days in this report with screen captures of the main home page from the Navigator app. WooHOO!
At-sea days are soooo relaxing. Breakfast was at Cabanas this morning. Sorry, no pics. Prob'ly went to the shops to compare stuff to what was on the Dream. ((Really no sale stuff on the Fantasy whereas the Dream had plenty of things marked down.)) We wandered because it's such a relaxing thing to do. I played with pictures of more cool stuff. This is right by Guest Services on deck 3.
Seeing what I could do with texture and depth.
I think this is also across from Guest Services. I love the clean, modern feel in the interpretation of the castle.
On the opposite side of the atrium still on deck 3 is another fun little vignette.
Oooooh...I like the texture.
All in the details.
Right across from this mosaic & chair is the Bon Voyage bar. Later in the cruise we talked to a bartender we "knew" from our last Fantasy sailing and he said this is his favorite bar to rotate to. The reason is even when there's no guests to serve the location overlooks the atrium so there's always people to see and it makes for a more interesting day to be able to people-watch. Never thought of it like that but very true.
Plush seating near Bon Voyage. The passage-way behind Tracey leads to the shops area then the Walt Disney Theater beyond.
Near the atrium on deck 3. I love this.
Ah, but we're just killin' time. Pretty soon it was time for us to go up to Goofy's Sports Deck for our golf simulator reservation. There's 2 simulator rooms: 1 set up for golf, the other set up for multi-sports. The multi-sports, I think, are baseball, basketball, football, soccer, and (maybe) hockey. I think. Not sure. We were just here for the golf. The aren't free. I'd have to go look up the pricing but you can pre-reserve them online prior to sailing in 1/2 hour or hour increments. We did an hour which I believe was $35. I told Tracey I would play to get him to let me book it but I really just wanted him to be able to do it because he had talked about wanting to for so long.
I did play maybe 1 hole but I'm not very good at golf and wasn't really amused with the simulator.
It's kind of a small space. Whenever Tracey would really swing especially with the driver it was sooooo loud....CRACK!
I love snapping pictures of Tracey at his full backswing right when he torques back down. Depending on the stiffness of the driver shaft, you can capture a LOT of the flex in the shaft.
Liiiittle blur from the safety net I was shooting from behind.
The putting was really tough to figure out. The sensors for distance were behind the screen. So, when you putted the ball you had to hit it hard enough to get it to the screen so it would register distance AND get the amount of distance right. You don't want to overshoot the hole or come up short.
Overall, the simulator was fun. Tracey really enjoyed it. He says it's more like a video game than playing golf. There's so much you have to compensate for in the translation for the screen & sensors. He did say it was fun and would do it again. Yay!
