I don't get all the hoopla over Ohana.

My family and I ate there recently and it was horrible. There were little flies all over the place, the meats were undercooked and, frankly, were not even very good quality IMO. I should have known better given that a friend of mine got food poisoning from the place a couple of months ago but I figured I would try it out for myself. Won't make that mistake again.

'Ohana is really hit or miss in my experience. Sounds like you got a miss. My first experience was similar. But my most recent experience was very good. I think the difference is this time I only ate what I wanted to eat. So I ate a lot of bread, steak, and shrimp!

About 8-10 years ago was my first visit to O'Hana and I loved it!!!! Everything about it was great - and all the food was delicious. Recently I went again. This time around I found the dining experience rushed - and all the meats and shrimp were overly charred/burnt.

Very strange. My wife and I have eaten there quite a few times and it's always been a great meal and experience. I'm actually trying to get a reservation for my bday in October and the only time available is late at night. It's usually a harder reservation to get at the last minute...so that says something about its popularity.

4 and 3 years ago I LOVED ohana. When I went 2 years ago it was just ok. When I went this year it was not good at all (service and food). For something that was once an every trip must for us has became something hubby and I decided to skip next time.

And people blinded by pixie dust still argue that quality hasn't suffered throughout WDW over the last several years. It's apparent in all areas of the resort, unfortunately.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
We've gone the past 15 yrs and never had a bad experience...always been one of our faves...sorry you didn't like it!:(

Us too! Me and my DH go to dinner there every single trip and it has never disappointed us and we were just there October 2015 and just as wonderful as always all the years prior. We go pretty much on average once a year also. And we are not blinded by pixie dust we never waste our time on lackluster food at WDW or anywhere else. We despise Tony's, and dislike Paradiso 37, Narcoosees and Coral Reef so obviously we don't love all meals at WDW. Haha! But we love 85%-90% of what we have tried (which Is quite a few but still working on trying all restaurants) which has been a lot of the signatures and the many great 1 credit places as well. ;)

We had a very poor breakfast here last August. Totally ruined the character experience

I'm in agreement with you @JusticeDisney , our family at there one time, about 4 years ago and it was very poor. Now, perhaps it needs a second chance as some of said it's hit and miss, but a little pricey to just take a roll of the dice to.

All of this, especially the pixie dust... Like LeCel, it once was a great experience but now folk lore has taken hold and Disney knows this. They can sit back and live off of what once was while providing a far less superior experience than they did just a few years ago. I'll say this, though, the people who work there are still AMAZING but the feeling of being rushed, both during breakfast and dinner, is unacceptable as is the food they are providing.

See we have yet to be turned off of 50's and went October 2015 as well and do that one every trip too. But we do avoid those I mentioned. I keep going to any like you until they give me a good reason not to. I hope we never get disappointed by 50's. Haha! Sorry you didn't have a great experience this last time. :(

In defence of Disney I must add to your post by saying O'hana appears to be an isolated case (as far as the food goes).

Last year we experienced many new restaurants. O'hana was THE worst experience we've ever had at WDW.
Raglan Road was disappointing due directly down to the server - the food was a good as it's always been.
The Plaza Restaurant was also let down by our server.

Some CMs just don't care

I'm usually not all that critical of food and liked Ohana from previous visits. The last time we ate there was Sept 2015 and due to popularity the only seat we could get was at 9:45 pm. This may have contributed to our experience. The steak was both under cooked and very fatty. The pork dumplings were very hard and dry and even the shrimp had an off taste. The sweet and sour chicken , noodles with vegetables and mixed greens salad was very good. The Service was equally disappointing that night. Although we may have hit an off night, the decision to skip it this year was unanimous.
