being a Christian, i personally take offense whenever someone says that when Christians metion God, that they're trying to force it down their throat or whatever (btw, this isn't at all directed toward anybody here...this is just general statements) maybe SOME Christians are, which is wrong, i'll agree....but the people who complain about this say in the same breath 'this is a free country and we can choose what we want to believe in'...that's very true...which also means that they really have no room to complain when Christians mention God in any way because it IS a free country and just as others have the right to freedom of religion AND speech, Christians do too. i'm going on a tangent, i know, but i can't help it with this subject. when the mention of God was put on money or into the governmental documents it's because it's what the founders of this country believed in...it doesn't mean everyone in the counrty HAS to believe it as well. this may be a bad comparison, but i'm having to type fast, so forgive me if this sounds stupid, but it's sort of like the foundation of a house...it has to be of something strong whether it be concrete blocks, or poured concrete (i don't build houses, so if that's wrong, humor me) but it doesn't mean the whole house has to be made of concrete....lol, does that make any sense at all?
but, to wrap this up, i'm with the majority of the posts here...if you don't want to believe in it, or if you don't want to be a part of it, then don't...no one's twisting anyone's arms here (and again, if they are, THAT'S when it's wrong) ....my 2 cents.
