I knew that I wasn't alone!!!!
My next trip is in 2 years, 4 months and 21 days, I have planed just about every detail including my daily spreadsheet and touring plans.
The plans keep evolving as I think of new ways to do things or Disney opens/closes attractions, but that's the fun of it.

I think I do this with every trip/activity/event in my life- but it's a lot more fun doing it with a vacation and Disney has so much to offer that it's really easy to go nuts planning all the minute details. Every time I come up with some fun new twist, I tell DH and he's learned to just nod and say OK. Of course WDW Magic's forums are blocked at my office, but that doesn't stop me from making lots of Disney diversions. We recently upgraded to large dual flat screen monitors for the office- so I can work on one and research Disney stuff on the other. :sohappy: I think the guy who sits behind me is getting tired of me watching various parade and firework videos. :lookaroun Hey- just forming opinions on different viewing points. I have a few other trips before we go- so I can't pack the bags- but somewhere, I saved a list with everything I can think of right now to pack. I'm really losin' it :hammer:So, what to plan today???

My poor mother has to deal with my incessant planning for MONTHS before the trip. We are 13 days out (YAY!) and I'm like, ready to pack and print out my plans...

nice feeling.....

I've often wondered if I was alone in my mania! Thank goddness I am not. I start thinking about our next trip (we go every other year) the day our vacation ends and we are on our way home! It does seem a bit crazy to me but I don't care. I love it. I was so happy to find sites where people are just like me, I don't feel as weird anymore. Our next trip is 406 days away and I'll actually be excited when it's exactly one year away. :sohappy:

And as excited and anxious as I am about our next vacation I also realize that when we go my older son will be starting HS, my younger one will be in his last year of ES and I am definitely NOT ready for that, lol!, :(,

Heading for the great escape.
I wouldnt say I hyper plan but I do plan out what park and where we are going to eat over our stay. This year has been more involved as we have a wedding, multiple groups and in my group special dietary requirements.

So when I built a spreadsheet I put in hyper links to the restaurants to ensure we would be able to cover all the bases, we had to change a couple so it was worth while, especially as we normally never think about what counter service to use.

Planning also helps pace out the holiday better which when you are there for a couple of weeks makes sure you make the most of the time without burning yourself out.

It is a plan however not a binding contract and things can be changed on the fly.

I'm with you guys!

I am an obsessive planner. Half the fun of the trip is the planning.
When I am making a spreadsheet, I feel like I am there. I can smell the parks, see the sights in front of me. Planning is like an escape for me.

Each trip has at least 6-8 spreadsheets. Even if I don't end up doing things they way I planned, I don't care. I just like the fantasizing.

Each year when I check out from my Disney hotel,, I take the welcome package, add parks maps and schedules and all of my spreadsheets from that year. Then I have a complete package of that trip.

No you aren't alone there are many of us on these boards! For myself and my husband we are so nuts we actually find ourselves planning our next trip down, while we are on the current one. Or we start thinking about things like when we will go and stuff. And the moment we get back, watch out!

This is the first Disney trip I am planning myself and I think I am hyper planning lol. Especially being on the dining plan. I'm figuring which restaurants I should eat at on which day and time in order to maximize our park time. I think I've changed my ADRs about 7 times. Then I tell everyone around me about my plans (even if they are not going lol). Planning is half the fun of it for me.

HAHA! I've done the same thing. I originally had 3, but cut back to 2 and am still like, are those times okay?? Are we going to have enough time?!?
