Trip Report Hurry back... Hurry back... (Now a trip report!)

Its Happening The Office GIF by NBC
That's right! Baby's first "post" (? perhaps peri-) pandemic Disney trip. When? Why, during the absolute brutal heat of August, of course! Details are subject to change because technicallyyyyyy my time off hasn't yet been approved however... I booked everything anyways šŸ˜›. At the moment, looking at a stay at Pop! and will be hitting up Epcot, MK, and MGM/DHS (?). And I must be honest with you. I really must...

Yes I... I....

I'm trying to get Boo Bash tickets. Yes, Ms. I Will Never Pay for An After Hours Event is attempting to pay for an After Hours Event. But as you can see, it sure ain't working! So that is up in the air right now because I got bored calling over and over again. Honestly feel like I'm spending more money than usual but rationalizing it by saying "ohhhh but I haven't been in sooooooo long". And if I'm being ENTIRELY HONEST, the big allure for Boo Bash is more Haunted Mansion time lol.

How the heck does one get a boarding group for ROTR these days? What's the freshest strategy? Also I have no dining reservations because I can't decide where I should eat/if it's worth sitting down for a real meal. Any recommendations?

It sure has been a while (I was kinda too bummed out to read the forums without being able to go), so hi everyone!!!

Great report so far. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on genie+. I was sooooo sad. And I agree on illuminations. It'll take a wow show to convert me.

I've been to Epcot on the Skyliner quite a few times now, and that's the first angle of the flat France facade I've noticed. I must be looking down all the time and miss it! So fun traveling along with you!

THE STANCHIONS ARE ROLLED ASIDE. LET'S GO!!!
tempImageSudvt5.jpg

Join me on this walk in which I am quite literally the only guest in this part of World Showcase. There were a few stragglers behind me, but I walk fast.
tempImagePWd5lJ.jpg

tempImagek72sZK.jpg

(THAT'S A CM OK I AM STILL IN FIRST PLACE HERE...)
tempImagekwVz66.jpg

tempImageIyUZQP.jpg

(ANOTHER CM, THANK YOU VERY MUCH)
tempImage0ZXEVv.jpg

Just passing through, one of my favorite aspects of World Showcase. It's just so quaint... I doubt it will survive Bob Paycheck, or perhaps you will have to pay 10$ per viewing period? Just throwing ideas out there...

tempImageiTd4wc.jpg

I knew I would be approaching civilization soon, but I continued to book it while simultaneously enjoying this truly unique experience of being the first guest plodding along on this Sunday morning.

I don't honestly care about FEA but I thought... I might as well ride it first thing and get it out of the way. That's the spirit! I also thought I was being smart and had an ulterior motive for being in Norway in the morning.
tempImageZYphKf.jpg

10:49 am, so roughly a 10 minute wait. The park hadn't even opened yet and the CMs that were guarding the stanchions in France said that nothing would open until 11. They lied to me!
tempImageU4mTlR.jpg

We got stopped here, Sven and Olaf just stood there doing nothing lol. A mother behind me said "now the timing is going to be off for the entire ride!". Dear reader, the timing was not off. It was just this room. This ride is a disappointment and is not worth waiting more than 20 minutes imo.

ATTRACTION 1 COMPLETE. If you recall, I usually go on trips with my grandma and we try to one up our ride-record. Given my fear of the Skyliner, my grandma tried to sweeten the deal by saying that each ride on the Skyliner would count as an attraction, so if we go by that, FEA would really be Attraction 2. We'll see what my final tally is and then I'll decide.

I departed Arendelle and went as fast as my little legs would carry me to Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe. A CM was guarding the door - it was 11 am. Foolishly, I thought that it would be open, and I was soon sadly informed that it would not open until 11:30. I was starving, having driven here on a Nutri-Grain bar (strawberry flavor, I will hear no other arguments) and whatever other products I had been able to photosynthesize during my brisk walk around World Showcase. Where the HECK would I go for 30 minutes?
tempImage8YFkJA.jpg

I thought maybe through the Mexico pavilion on a brief ride with the Tres Caballeros, but decided that the ride wouldn't kill enough time. Onwards.
tempImageU29EJ4.jpg

My first glimpse of WALLCOT. It is strange coming through the International Gateway, I definitely missed SSE being the first thing you see when you come through the front gate. But Future World is abhorrently ugly at the moment (I'll get to that in a bit!) and I can't imagine what first-time guests think as they battle their way through dead-ends and crappy signage.
tempImageok8bJn.jpg

This picture is deceptive and I am a moron. This was a solo-trip! I was ready to hop into the single rider lane, but they had put out all these stanchions in front of the entrance to Test Track to extend the queue, and I stupidly thought I would have to get into it instead of approaching the single rider entrance directly. After about 10 minutes of watching people go directly to the single rider entrance, I got to the front of the stanchions and asked if I could get into the single rider lane. My request was approved. Oh well.
tempImagedzMXDo.jpg

11:10 at this point, single rider was a walk-on! Hurray!!! With ATTRACTION 2 COMPLETE, I still had oodles of time to kill even though my stomach was consuming itself at this point. I thought one more ride would do it, so I made my way to what is usually my first ride when arriving at EPCOT/WALLCOT. I literally felt lost as I was trying to make my way there, which is a bizarre feeling as I feel like I know EPCOT like the back of my hand.

Almost there... Well, at least I was getting my steps in, right?

I PROMISE WE REALLY ARE ALMOST THERE, it's just that these walls make you go the longggg way around.
tempImagePMsvxI.jpg

In line. I looked for you guys, I really did, but there was not a pudding cup to be found this time. Maybe next time I ride I might find a snack for you, I know you're hungry.
tempImageI0IQhy.jpg

PLEASE BOB SPARE HER I BEG OF YOU SHE HAS DONE NOTHING WRONG. PLEAAASE DON'T REPLACE HER WITH A MOANA MURAL OR SOMETHING. PLEASE.
tempImageGZoPxL.jpg

I know you guys like my trip reports because I'm an expert photographer and I really immerse you into the ride. Notice anyone missing in this picture? I quickly sent it to my grandpa with a message of "OH BA DAY IS MISSING!!!" as that is the name we have given the chieftain (he says oh ba day, oh ba day... during his story).
tempImagebmFVSE.jpg

Johannes' got them skinny legs and little ballet flats. A legend.
tempImage9Fy6eu.jpg

BOOTS! IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG GIRL!!! TOO LONG!
tempImageJ72Zmf.jpg

My favorite part of the descent? There's not much else to look at I guess LOL. But still "ohhhhh lights!!!"
tempImage1Y7zEJ.jpg

This is called ingenuity. I would later just pull my hat over my face and listen to the music, but this go round, I was trying to look at all the dust-covered black sheets drawn across set pieces just out of arms reach... Oh to reach out and pull the sheets aside.
ATTRACTION 3 COMPLETE.
tempImage10FBFo.jpg

Even with this very expensive sign replacement, I did not pay attention and hooked right as I normally would when coming off of SSE.
tempImageUM8IgO.jpg

Only to be met with more WALLS! Disoriented, I turned around and attempted to retrace my steps in an effort to get back to Norway.

It was a mostly overcast day on Sunday, and there was a nice cool breeze. Temperatures felt like low 80s, which was lovely. I believe it was sprinkling here, and I had left my poncho in the hotel room, but I could handle it.
tempImageTjHzLt.jpg

Instead of strolling past Odyssey again, I decided to go the way I was TRYING to go, had the walls not impeded me. Unfortunately, the portal to another dimension was not operating as you can see by this picture, otherwise I would have hopped in.

sponge-bob-chocolate.gif

School Bread. I dream of this thing. Dare I say it, DARE I SAY IT? MY FAVORITE SNACK AT WDW?
tempImageaLYpWP.jpg

A CUT AWAY BECAUSE THIS IS A PROFESSIONAL TRIP REPORT. DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU are watching DFB? You should feel that way. The custard is not too sweet, the bread has just the right amount of spice, and the coconut icing on top is incredible. I could have lived without Olaf, because I don't like white chocolate - but I ate it anyway. Because they increased the price to $4.49 and I was not going to waste a cent. You'll also notice that I got myself a water - remember goal number 1 for this trip was not to get heatstroke. I don't like drinking water in general (it is boring) but dang if I didn't drink a ton this trip. And also pee a ton. But I've spared you the amount of bathroom breaks, because it was likely a comical number. On to Mexico!
tempImageFBBc8K.jpg

I love this pavilion. The AC was really blasting too, much appreciated.
tempImage4FYtww.jpg

Oh HECK YEAH! I didn't care for the plexiglass dividers, it felt very, very claustrophobic. But, this ride was basically a walk on, so I decided to get over it.
tempImagen7wh4w.jpg

GUYS! Fiesta HOY! I hope you brought your invites and RSVP'd with the host.
tempImageW5g9Zp.jpg

Nice to see everyone present and accounted for (not a memorial plant in sight). ATTRACTION 4 COMPLETE.

I took a brisk walk across the promenade (or whatever, the section between World Showcase's two components, you know, with the Starbucks and the store and the long walkway that I pictured earlier) and ended up...
tempImagefnVs5s.jpg

Another fun one! I wouldn't be visiting AK this go round, but this ride makes me miss Finding Nemo The Musical most severely.

An aside, I was ready to throw hands if I saw Tim Tracker at Boo Bash (not a fan) and now he's posted a vlog for the night I was there. Currently scanning to see if you can see the blur that was me sprinting around that park from 9-12:30.
lmao this is killing me, why on earth??? I bet they run into fans all the time but an angry WDWMagic member bonafide hater would probably be a new one for them.

Eager to hear your review of Boo Bash! I'll be there the 12th. I'm actually really excited based on what I've seen, but maybe I've got totally different expectations.

You know, I used to enjoy their videos many years ago, but then they started to get on my nerves??? I can't stand how he goes "wheeeeeeeee" on rollercoasters LOL. Also in the Boo Bash video he ordered a FROZEN MOCHA and then was upset that it was a FROZEN MOCHA and not a FROZEN HOT CHOCOLATE, so he had to throw it away because it was caffeinated. Just.... little things like that LOL. I did not see myself in his video (a blessing AND a curse?) šŸ§
My fellow Mansion lover, last night my doombuggy got stopped AT THE BALLROOM for THREE WHOLE MINUTES! (Yes I timed it, figured another Nerd would appreciate it. :joyfull: )
OF COURSE YOU GO THE WEEK AFTER I'VE BEEN. But also šŸ˜šŸ˜ the DREAM! I got stopped for about a minute right in front of Madame Leota during one of my ride-thrus, which was fun, but the BALLROOM? Lucky duck.

I'll give you a preview: I had fun and accomplished everything I had in mind to do. It depends on your goals! I wouldn't pay more than what I did for it though.
