Hurricane Milton coming to FL

Watching the Weather Channel. Because of the more southern landfall at Sarasota that means the northern side (ie I-4 corridor including WDW) is getting slammed.

Hope everyone is well thru and after this. I was in Vallarta few weeks ago when John was gearing toward us after it hit Acapilco then decided to head out to sea again and travel along coast. Right before it reached Vallarta it decided to hit Michoacan aand travel thru the country towards the Mexico Gulf.

On the lighter side, it will be interesting to see how Tiana’s Bayou will look like after the winds.
Will all those glued fake plants hold?

Things seem to have gone quiet. If many of the posters were anywhere in the impact area they could very well be without power. As for me, I would think the day and night is a little windy if I didn't know a hurricane was southeast of me. And to think I only evaced to Jax last week due to Helene.

And if you are one of those who are staying at a Disney Resort through this storm please remember that all of those cast members there to ride out the storm with you are away from their families and homes. Please don't become the whining, entitled guest because they don't have enough <insert anything here> the way you want it. They'll do the best they can to ensure everyone is safe (highest priority) and have the basics available to make it through the storm.

And then on the backside of it, the WDW team will need to evaluate damage in the parks, start a clean-up plan and determine if/when they can reopen safely. Once they do reopen, understand they will likely be short-staffed during the early stages of the restart since not all cast members may be able to get back for their shifts due to storm impacts.

Essentially, be respectful of all the Cast Members you encounter throughout this. They have all the same stresses and more (their homes and families were likely impacted) and don't need an entitled guest coming at them because they can't get or do <whatever>. Each guest also has to take some personal responsibility for readiness and not blame the CM when you didn't do what was needed to prepare.

This, 100%.

No
6” of rain already reported in Tampa, expecting up to 8” more on top of that. Tampa also reported 100mph gust.

In the thick of it now. Outages ramping up.

I visited after Irma several years back. The pet cemetery got jossled up a lot. I thought it looked better. LOL.

I hope that’s the extent of your damage 🙏

We lost our cage with Ian and it was a huge pain to replace it but we got really lucky that that was the worst of it
Thank you! The business has lost power so I can’t check the security systems and I’m worried that my pool cage will become a projectile but I trust in God. What happens, happens. I have done everything I could to prepare for this storm. I work hard and trust in God. That’s all I can do. Of course im worried, but I’m not panicking. For now, the house still has power. If you pray, please pray for those in the path of this storm. 🙏

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
lol. Twas like winning the lottery.
It was. We always redeemed them!

Back on topic - Got a bit of chill when I saw the tornadoes in Fort Pierce. We fled the Keys in our RV two years ago ahead of Ian, and Fort Pierce is where we hid out. We had multiple tornado warnings the night before the hurricane then too.

Stay safe friends.

Jim cantore sounds REALLY disappointed to be in Charlotte Harbor, so fingers crossed that means we dodged a bullet by the skin of our teeth!!
