According to the weather channel, the center of the cone is currently only 1 mile to the north of Magic Kingdom. Doesn't mean it will hit directly there but the chances are pretty high for something direct and severe here.

How come?

October tends to do this to storms. While it is still early October, you often see this in the changes in fronts causing a slight downward push. Although the push won't likely be as extreme as the Tampa to Port Charlotte change of 2004.

Charley had this in August because one came early when it was moving towards FL in 2004.

They really don’t though. It’s been a while since we’ve seen a storm forecast to become a major hurricane, then track directly over WDW while maintaining hurricane strength. People on vacation should be leaving now.

Yes. People should remember Charley was a major strength and Ian was a major strength and were NOT direct hits.

This will have more impact if the track stays so central, even as a 3 where Central often sees less as it calms down. Orlando, Lakeland, Plant City, Winter Haven..all going to be rough if this stays.

If theme parks sustain building damage and flooding into the interior buildings there is no way the parks can open anytime soon after Milton.

Yes. If the rains do what Ian did, there is a good chance many attractions at level will have tracks and areas under some water.

Many people here have seen MK flood due to its utilidors having park with odd drainage on rainy days.

Were on the east coast and in just as much trouble, there is not a known direction to evacuate to yet. Should know more in the next day or so once that track and cone tightens, there is most definitely going to be shifts. But yeah anyone in WDW really needs to go home and anyone coming cancel.

Unlikely they would evacuate the Orlando area since it’s inland, however that still doesn’t mean you should be there if you don’t have to be. This is not going to be a pleasant experience for those on vacation with a possibly large logistics mess for some time afterwards and difficulty getting home.

Difficulty getting home when gas pumps are out of gas and if they even have any can’t pump when there are power outages , calling 911 and no one will come because of winds and storm . I’d be getting out today and not tomorrow.

When Houston evacuated years ago pre hurricane the road out and thousands of drivers were in traffic several hours and a number of cars ran out of gas while idling on the interstate.

Also be prepared for Disney to be serving everyone turkey sandwiches and almost everything else to be closed, with possible power outages and no air conditioning, potentially for a while. Again, people who are there now who are on vacation should leave, it’s not going to be fun. If it’s really bad you could end up sleeping on the floor in the hotel lobby.
