So maybe Disney isn't as horrible as people were saying last night?
Speaking for myself, they've made some bad decisions. That boxed meal for $13 was a really bad choice. There wasn't more than $2, including labor, in that box with the pricing they get from Sysco or whoever they use. Given the situation you charge $3 max if, no pun intended, you don't eat the cost.
A 30% discount for breakfast is a great gesture, if they can accommodate all of their guests at each resort. Actually it's a great gesture period. Turning people away if they can't accommodate everyone may not be the best business decision. 363 days a year I don't see an issue with guests being responsible for taking care of their dining needs. During these two days I recognize that there may be issues due to the unique circumstances. As a paying guest, I'd expect Disney to mitigate those issues rather than create some of them.
Making a bad decision doesn't make them evil, or horrible. In some cases it should probably create opportunity teaching lessons learned, or consideration of future career choices though. The reasoning is that if you can afford a 30% discount on a buffet, 600% margin on a boxed meal look ridiculous.
