The timing just stinks, but, when is it ever a good time for a hurricane...?!
I think quite a few people could use one now!

People could have ordered from Garden Grocer, they could have ordered pizza delivery from Pizza Hut etc, or they could have taken an uber or drove out of WDW...or they could have stocked up on things from the quick service restaurants and mini grocers in the resorts earlier.

At some point people must be responsible for their own actions. I'm not criticizing the ones who did not leave property..but you can't exactly criticize Disney for providing an option to them..and charging a price for it.

That's nonsense. This is Murka! Everybody else is responsible for my well-being. And free stuff. And my lack of planning IS everybody else's crisis.

It's funny when I think about the time when our cousins were visiting the islands when Hurricane Iwa rolled into town. We offered to let them stay at our house, but they declined. Somehow, despite being stuck in a remote resort on the North Shore, they were amazingly actually aware of the impending storm, and magically were able to acquire a few loaves of bread, some peanut butter, and various groceries and snacks that kept them fed for the next few days despite limited services available at the resort.

I honestly don't know how they did that, without the resort taking care of them as if they were children. It must have been a miracle or something.

Thats right where Jeanne and Frances hit. But uh, nowhere near this powerful.

Watching Rick Scott's press conference right now. He's indicating storm surges up to 11 feet. That will swamp many coastal cities.

If you are in an area under evacuation and haven't, go now. Scott just said traffic on 528 is moving smoothly. And there are 130 shelters in the state, none at capacity. And he just said no reported fuel shortages along the Turnpike and interstates.

I understand the get out now mentality, but night has fallen. Unless you're headed to a shelter, I fear it may be too late now.

The UM-FSU game? No, I missed that. What did he say?

Asked if he would just go ahead and cancel it now so people weren't waiting to hear.

Then another one said that the Clinton campaign wanted voter registration extended, and if he would do that.

I realize he's the governor, but I think he'd have some problem cancelling a college football game, without checking with his buddy John Thrasher.

You just want to guarantee a Cane win, lol.
