Wonder how traffic on the major highways is doing?
Have people started the return process yet? Or not til tomorrow?

It would seem the Napelton business is run by a bunch of scumbags. They did the same thing at their Hundai dealership in Palm Besch.

Just got my magical express info got 7 hours to kill at mco still could be worse at least i am getting home. Good luck to all who are traveling
Napleton owns about 80 dealerships in 5 states. The company runs out of Illinois and has it's share of consumer based scumbaggery here as well.
We got more water than Matthew last year or the October 2015 floods. I live downtown in an ailing 150+ year-old house on historically high ground, but we are an island surrounded by floodwaters.
There is a stalled minivan floating in the street 4 houses down. Try riding out even a tropical storm in a clapboard house built 9 years before the civil war. The house is currently shaking like its in a quake, but at least its hopefully making the termites uncomfortable!
Dh said he heard that it may take a month before people may be allowed to drive back to The Keys! He said engineers need to carefully check the bridges for any damage at all! The only way to get supplies would be via boat or plsne if the airport is okay or helipads. It is unreal to hear. I hope you hear from all your friends soon.To be fair, the media isn't even covering parts of our own country that were hit by a Category 4 hurricane right now.
People are just left in the dark. Social media is going a better job that the mainstream media with Irma. It's One time that I'm in love with that form of media actually.
I'm sure more info on all of the Caribbean and Florida will come out in the days to come.
Dh and I were commenting on the seemingly disappointed weather media. One of TWC experts looked visibly upset that the surge in Naples was not to the extent that they had predicted. I also always wonder why do they need to be out in the open the whole time they are on camera. Why can they not report from an overhang. You know one day one of these "brave souls" will get pummeled by some piece of flying debris. Then they will blame TWC and sue. That dipwad Jim Cantore was in Miami and appeared genuinely disappointed when the storm veered westward and avoided a direct hit on Miami. Sorry Jim, Mother Nature wasn't in the mood to contribute to the sensationalism of The Weather Channel and their hashtag style of reporting.
Quick dining update for Monday Night:
The Wave switched yesterday to a buffet. We did Cali grill last night so didn't get to do this. Cali grill was great. But why oh why didn't I do this yesterday also?
Food was great.
The kicker? $15/adult. $8/child. Drinks included and still offering AP/DVC discount.
The managers- Jill w/ F&B and Oliver at the Wave were extraordinary. Mim, the GM of The Contemporary and the staff is hands down the best resort during this storm. I travel for a living. I've stayed at every deluxe. I'm DVC. Never have I had this good of service.
And now, the dining room proudly presents... your dinner.
The bottom line- they've learned their lesson from last year and came back and outdid themselves.
I, um, wonder how many of those cars will be keyed. Not that it is okay to do so, but they're college students who've been cooped up, have to comply with the curfew and have probably been drinking....
After the Twitter storm today, if I were the Napleton GM, I'd get those cars out of those garages fast. The ENTIRE town now knows there are some really expensive cars in FSU's parking garages.
Being that the Tallahassee Democrat is a Gannett newspaper, I knew it wouldn't be long before it was picked up by USA Today. It just went nationwide:
Check out this article from USA TODAY:
Florida car dealerships parked cars in public garages during Hurricane Irma. People weren’t happy.

Maybe that's why I read "Napleton" as "Napoleon"...Napleton owns about 80 dealerships in 5 states. The company runs out of Illinois and has it's share of consumer based scumbaggery here as well.

Looks like Irma scuttled the Pirate Dinner Adventure, at least for a bit.
It's blurry (from a video on twitter).. but I had to post this in the main thread..
LOOK!!!! 4 Key Deer were spotted!!!!
Let's hope that more survived as well!
At least a little bit of good news coming out of there!

I was, thanks for the update! The cats who take residence at the Hemingway house are also safe, apparently. If anyone else was worried about them haha.
I don't know; Mike Bettes looked like he was getting his a*% kicked in Naples. Was out there in way harsher winds than Cantore. I kept asking my husband why weren't they letting this poor man get out of the sustained 90mph winds. It was dangerous & stupid.TWC takes it on themselves to send out their crews to report from these things to educate, as well as report in real time what's going on. Jim Cantore has been doing this for many years and if you watched any of the coverage, not all of the reporters were like Jim. They all sought shelter when necessary. If you also didn't notice, they are always thinking safety first. If they needed to move, they did.
