I saw that article. FSU should just contact all the tow services in town, have them remove the vehicles and then hand Napelton the bill. After all, they are trespassing, if they either didn't have permission or weren't on official business, like a postman.
Just got my magical express info got 7 hours to kill at mcostill could be worse at least i am getting home. Good luck to all who are traveling

I, um, wonder how many of those cars will be keyed. Not that it is okay to do so, but they're college students who've been cooped up, have to comply with the curfew and have probably been drinking....
After the Twitter storm today, if I were the Napleton GM, I'd get those cars out of those garages fast. The ENTIRE town now knows there are some really expensive cars in FSU's parking garages.
Oh my. Hope you will be okay. Guess there are times when it's not cool to live in an historic home.

Dh said he heard that it may take a month before people may be allowed to drive back to The Keys! He said engineers need to carefully check the bridges for any damage at all! The only way to get supplies would be via boat or plsne if the airport is okay or helipads. It is unreal to hear. I hope you hear from all your friends soon.
Dh and I were commenting on the seemingly disappointed weather media. One of TWC experts looked visibly upset that the surge in Naples was not to the extent that they had predicted. I also always wonder why do they need to be out in the open the whole time they are on camera. Why can they not report from an overhang. You know one day one of these "brave souls" will get pummeled by some piece of flying debris. Then they will blame TWC and sue.
Quick dining update for Monday Night:
The Wave switched yesterday to a buffet. We did Cali grill last night so didn't get to do this. Cali grill was great. But why oh why didn't I do this yesterday also?
Food was great.
The kicker? $15/adult. $8/child. Drinks included and still offering AP/DVC discount.
The managers- Jill w/ F&B and Oliver at the Wave were extraordinary. Mim, the GM of The Contemporary and the staff is hands down the best resort during this storm. I travel for a living. I've stayed at every deluxe. I'm DVC. Never have I had this good of service.
And now, the dining room proudly presents... your dinner.
The bottom line- they've learned their lesson from last year and came back and outdid themselves.
That looks really yummy. I'm eating peanut butter sandwiches for dinner - still don't have power. But I'm treating it like I'm camping. Thank goodness it's cool - currently 62 degrees.

TWC takes it on themselves to send out their crews to report from these things to educate, as well as report in real time what's going on. Jim Cantore has been doing this for many years and if you watched any of the coverage, not all of the reporters were like Jim. They all sought shelter when necessary. If you also didn't notice, they are always thinking safety first. If they needed to move, they did.
The running joke is that if Cantore shows up in your town, you're screwed, lol. Well, for Miami, yeah, that's where they thought it was going to make a direct hit. When that wasn't the case, they moved him to a "better" location closer to the direct hit. It's what they do. You're not going to report on an Epcot event from the Magic Kingdom, why should the weather be any different?
I applaud their efforts at educating and informing the public at the dangers of what these storms bring. Without their efforts, we wouldn't see that vital footage of things we need to improve for future storms.
Maybe that's why I read "Napleton" as "Napoleon"...

Nice seeing this. Family has a place on Conch Key (mile 62) supposedly all but one house is intact on the Gulf side.

I don't know; Mike Bettes looked like he was getting his a*% kicked in Naples. Was out there in way harsher winds than Cantore. I kept asking my husband why weren't they letting this poor man get out of the sustained 90mph winds. It was dangerous & stupid.
Looks like those guys & gals graduated from the Meteorology School at the University of "Hey, Watch This!"
