Hurricane Irma

I wasn't a **** about it. I said it was fine to feel sad- heck, I would- but just to keep things in perspective right now- considering the storm was still ongoing and there's lots of locals on this board. It wasn't an unwarranted feeling, it just wasn't the right time and place. Let people wake up and see if they have power or windows first, right? Is that unreasonable?

I was also supposed to be out of here but flights got pushed back and I'm delayed 3 nights here. My biggest worry is my kid missing school and stuck here. But I also realize that is trivial in the scope of what is going on.
So to summarize, yes, be sad. But is it so hard to post about it tomorrow?
Can we drop it please, it's all water under the bridge now anyways. @PhilliesPhan93 is a good guy and it's all fine and well now.
Disney had no issues with availabilty at CR? Did you get a room discount for the unintended nights?

The hub doesn't look too bad, at least centrally.

Look at that, already got the spires reassembled! The Mouse moves quickly! ;)

More seriously, looks like WDW did pretty well overall. Certainly some vegetation down and other minor damage, but that's to be expected.

A big shout out tho the CMs and clean up crews who are currently swarming the resort. While it is their job, I'm sure many of them are delaying cleanup of their own homes as they work to get WDW back in sparkling shape. Probably the best thing one can do is stay out of their way, but if you have the chance, be sure to thank them for their efforts.

And that applies to all first responders and volunteers across the state right now. A lot of southern Florida, in Miami, Naples, and especially the Keys, seemed to get pretty good hits. I know my family in Palm Beach County made it through ok, but many others have likely not. Check-in with your neighbors, be careful when clearing debris, and just lookout for one another and help as much as we each can (which sometimes means just staying home and out of the way for a day or two).

On Friday evening I booked CR for Sat and Sunday. Also had the poly open. That was it.
On Saturday am my Monday flight (previously Sunday) got bumped to Wednesday. So when I got the hotel they had availability there, the poly, and port orleans (both). They gave me a discounted extension rate of ~$190ish/nt

I can't speak enough to the management here. Top notch.

Power Outages below.. SoFla still almost completely dark, definitely the most outages.
Monroe County 100% dark and without water.
Please get this fixed faster than Wilma!!! I know the state was better prepared this time, hopefully Florida will see results of that soon.

Wow! That is truly great to hear. It is nice that they seem to not have taken advantage of the terrible situation. I enjoyed your pics. Thanks!

Wow, nearly 6 million without power. That's close to 1/3 of the residents of the state.

Numbers reflect customers, not individuals. A customer may have 1 to 10 people in their household.

Right now, about 60% of customers are without power in Florida. And about 60% in Orange County are without power. https://poweroutage.us/Area/State/Florida

WDW's saving grace is buried power lines.

Which means, everyone should respect the curfew. There are a lot of downed lines in the area in which the lines aren't buried -- and they are very dangerous.

This also means there are a lot of downed trees blocking roads.

Let the professionals make things safe without people being lookie Lous or deciding they deserve a table service meal every six hours.

But, why obey the curfew when this is a PERFECT opportunity to get us some 2017 images of River Country and Discovery Island?
