None of those storms ravaged through the entire state, ripping straight through the middle.
I know you keep saying that, but it isn't true.
Florida has not seen "countless Cat 4s". And the 2 Cat 5s that actually did hit- they both ended in devastations and many lives lost.
We, too, have misplaced our letter in the past, so don't feel bad . For that one they just printed a new one at reception.
Do they still use the letters? Or do they just scan your magic bands? (I cannot remember for the life of me)
Honestly, i'd rather people be hyperbolic and be prepared than underplay the storm and be under-prepared.Got anything informative to add? Why don't you look at the actual forecast and the actual storms that have come and gone in the past instead of just perpetuating hysteria by using hyperbole.
On our trips they've used MBs when arriving at MCO from your home destination and letters when leaving WDW to MCO. This was as of March.
Could be, but the fact it makes them all so dramatic hurts their credibility, and means some people will discount the warnings even for the most dangerous storms.I'll agree, TWC always makes everything as dramatic as possible (gotta get advertising dollars somehow) but on this storm, they have every right to be dramatic.
I don't think many locals over a 15 or 20 minute drive will be heading over there lol.
Any reason we can't prepare/evacuate/plan AND refrain from exaggeration? This is not an either/or. BTW, I was born in Naples. Not clueless.Preparing for the worst is the wise course. Dismissing such preparation and calling it hyperbole is foolishness.
Don't know why you keeping giving such bad advice in this thread.
Oh I totally agree, its the boy who cried wolf situation. After a while that tone seems normal and no one will yield to the true warnings.Could be, but the fact it makes them all so dramatic hurts their credibility, and means some people will discount the warnings even for the most dangerous storms.

That's my thought too. We're about 30 minutes away and as much as I'd love a good distraction and empty parks, I want to save the gas in our car and not clog up the roads when it's not necessary. My husband just looked at me like I was crazy for even considering it, lol!
Moving along...Does anyone know how Disney would best secure rides like IASW, PP, and Pooh? The loads for these rides while covered are essentially open without any sort of shutters or doors. Same can be said about the Pirates gift shop and TL Terrace?
Just curious.
