Yes, that is $250 for ONE OUNCE of Bourbon!
I was lucky to have that bourbon once and it was SO good!! Worth-ish the money 😉

I actually was in Disney the same time! We flew down on that Wednesday and to this day I have no idea how we got there. Every flight out of Buffalo to FL was canceled except ours !! We had 15 people on our flight. The crowd levels were amazing - we got so much done too!! Cant wait to read more. I was wondering why there were so many LSU fans around Disney now it makes sense!

Did you stop your trip reports? Something reminded me of yall in someone else's trip reports recently and I realized you have been MIA lol.

The whole night was great. The energy and vibe in the park is just so much fun, but the highlight is for sure the parade. I recommend going at least once. One day I hope to get to the Christmas party to see how that one is.
I’ve been to the Christmas party 3 times. It’s nothing compared to Halloween!! My niece & I went to the Halloween party 5 years ago & that was the best time I ever had at MK!! The parade & fireworks were amazing!!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it!!

Happy to see you here...ok, was your sister with you this time? I thought I saw your sister pushing a stroller in Epcot, but I wasn't sure if that was her!!

I'm so glad we got there because it was awesome with the low crowds.

That is what I've heard! The new Christmas party they are doing at Hollywood this year looks promising.

Tues., Sept. 5th
After another late night, we most certainly were not in a rush to get going. Our main focus today was going to be the World Showcase and Food and Wine since our previous Epcot day was a washout due to Idalia. We arrived around 11:30.

On my last trip to F&W, my favorite booth was Flavors From Fire, so I was really excited to have it again specifically the smoked corned beef with chips!
IMG_1192.jpg

We ordered 3 items. The Swine Brine drink was as good as I remembered. The steak taco was pretty good, but I was so incredibly let down by the corned beef. It was such a bummer.

I went back through my photos and found the picture from last time.

And I give you a side by side....
IMG_1387.jpg

That doesn't even look like the same dish. The one we got looks quite pathetic compared...come on Disney.

But moving on...Josh wanted to try the Pickle Shake. :depressed:

The presentation is very Instagram worthy and you get to keep the cup.

IMG_1203.jpg

The verdict....he LOVED it and I HATED it. To me it tasted like vinegar and vanilla. He drank the entire thing.

Yes it was a girls trip so I was with both my sisters, sister in law, my Mom and then my 2 nephews (crashed the girls trip how dare they 😉) so we definitely had a stroller with us! It probably was us! Sad I missed you!

We made our way to Mexico, but did not try the food booth there. We stopped and listened to the entertainment.

IMG_1207.jpg

Then we popped into the Stave Church in Norway. Any excuse for some AC was going to be important this day because it was so hot and sunny.

Next was China.

IMG_1213.jpg

The Crispy Duck Bao Bun was so delicious. This ended up being one of the best things I tried.
IMG_1212.jpg

We saw the movie in the China pavilion - Reflections of China. I couldn't even tell you the last time I watched that. I probably wasn't even a teenager yet. Then we walked through the gallery they have in there which was really neat!
IMG_1215.jpg

While in the China pavilion, I was able to snag a BG for Guardians.
IMG_1214.png

On to Germany. They had a band out playing and I always love the shops in Germany.

We walked through Italy as well and saw Sergio.
IMG_1226.jpg

When we arrived to America, we were ready for a sweet treat!
IMG_1228.jpg

IMG_1229.jpg

This is so good, we each have to have our own. It was so warm and yummy!! Get this!

Josh likes to see the American Adventure and I'm always down for a cool down. We had a little time to kill before the next show so we browsed the art gallery. Cam loves Orange Bird so I snapped this for him. I saw they were selling the print, but I couldn't find the price on it. I planned to come back after the show to check on that for a possible Christmas gift, but then completely forgot! Grrrr.
IMG_1230.jpg

We explored the Japan shop and gardens. I don't think I've ever walked all the way back before to the quick service area. It's so pretty and peaceful back there.

This was the only Remi that I found. I forgot to even look for him otherwise and just stumbled upon this one.

IMG_1231.jpg

I wanted to try to famous griddled cheese.
IMG_1233.jpg

IMG_1234.jpg

Maybe I was expecting something different. I was thinking the cheese would be warm and someone melty, but it wasn't at all. Neither of us cared for this. We get Haloumi cheese from our local Greek place at home and it's fabulous. It's chewy, but still melty and warm. This was not.

We heard the band playing in the UK, so we stopped and listened to them a bit and explored the shops.
IMG_1235.jpg

Next up was the Hawaii booth.
IMG_1238.jpg

Again, I've heard such good things about the slider, but mine was gross! The bottom portion of the bun was soaked and the top bun was stale. The bottom was so soggy that it was inedible so I had to take the meat and top part of the bun off and eat it that way. It just seemed like it had been sitting there awhile and wasn't good.
IMG_1239.jpg

I really didn't want to spend anymore money on F&W and be disappointed, but Josh knew I wanted to get the fried pickles, so he went and got those. Happy to report that these were delicious.
IMG_1240.jpg

IMG_1241.jpg

We went over to the Seas to see Lou and Lil Joe. I love them.

They were also doing a dolphin demonstration.
IMG_1245.jpg

And some tank cleaning as well. This diver was observing the tank cleaner.
IMG_1247.jpg

Or maybe watching these guys...
IMG_1249.jpg

Once we were done in there, our BG was called. Josh did not want to ride because he didn't want to feel bad again and I was feeling hot and tired, so we headed out. We waited so long for a bus and the AC felt sooo good once we finally got on. We rested up and did some packing. We also made a dinner reservation for one of our favorite spots! We hadn't planned on going this trip, but since we didn't fill up on F&W like we expected we knew we wanted to go. I couldn't find any reservations on the app, but found one on Open Table. Some of you may remember how much we love this place!

IMG_1257.jpg

I urge you all to give it a go. The food is always so good and service has always been great and they play great music! There is literally something for everyone. We got a lovely window seat and could see the progress on the Summer House on the Lake. At this time, it looked like there was still a lot of work to be done.
IMG_1258.jpg

We got the Macho Nachos for an appetizer which were amazing!
IMG_1261.jpg

I got the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with onion rings. 😋
IMG_1262.jpg

And the reason Josh loves the place....their sushi so good!

Spicy Tuna and Crouching Dragon

We wandered a few shops before calling it a night! And that concludes our trip. We took an Uber to the airport the next morning which went a lot better than the Mears bus.

Overall, the trip was amazing. We loved Gran Destino. The lower crowds due to the hurricane was so great and we got so much done, but I never want to take such a long trip away from Cam again. I know it wasn't originally planned to be that long, but I couldn't wait to get home to my dude although he was fine and well taken care of by Granny. My only real let down this trip was food quality. To me, it seems the quality has gone down while the prices go up.

We made it home in time to welcome our new great nephew! Cam is not the baby of the family anymore, but he doesn't seem to mind. :inlove:

Per my marriage agreement with Josh, next year will likely not include Disney as we agreed every other year, but I can't complain since this year I had the cruise and a trip to WDW. He's loving Disney more and more each trip, but still "wants to see other things". It's looking like a Vegas weekend for our couple's trip and a family trip to Branson for 2024.

As always, thank you all for sticking around and reading. I love sharing my trip with y'all!
