After Tron, we thought it was a good time for some breakfast!
IMG_0942.jpg

We got us a cinnamon roll with extra icing and a caramel cold brew!
IMG_0943.jpg

This was the first time I've had this. The extra icing was a must. It was kind of dry, but it was good. I would have liked it warmer, but it did the job!
IMG_0944.jpg

Then we were off to our next attraction....but where were the people??

We hit Big Thunder and then Pirates.

Followed this up with the Tiki Birds and Country Bears.

From 7:45am - 10:15am we had accomplished:
Space Mountain
Tron
Breakfast at Gaston's
Haunted Mansion
Big Thunder Mountain
Pirates of the Caribbean
Tiki Birds
Country Bears

All of this with ZERO waits! I'd say the morning was going swimmingly!

Sept. 1st, cont.
Our first LL was for Jungle Cruise, but had some time, so snack time it was! We love the pineapple and coconut swirl.
IMG_0956.jpg

As we sat having out snack, Josh informed me that he was not a fan of the Tiki Birds. 😂

It was time for our Jungle Cruise ride and this was the first of any type of crowds we had encountered all morning. I was happy to have a LL. The CM in charge of getting the guests boarded was standing one foot in and one foot out of the boat, with the one foot in being on the bench where you sit. He informed us to sit right where he was standing. There was room for me to sit, but Josh stood waiting for him to move, then the CM turned around and saw he was standing and said in a loud, rude tone, "Sir, you need to sit!" I'm proud of my husband for not picking up the CM and throwing him in the water and getting us forever banned from WDW (because I know that is what he really wanted to do). Instead, he pointed at the guy's own foot in the seat. The CM then just turned around and stepped out of the boat without saying another word.

That being said, we had a FANTASTIC skipper and a wonderful cruise!

We stopped at watched Mickey's Philharmagic. I loved the new scenes. Then we hit, Little Mermaid, Winnie the Pooh and our last stop before lunch was Buzz. I put my best focused face on. I still lost though.

We walked up on the parade just starting on our way to lunch.

I tried to get her breathing fire, but I was always too late! But at least we got to see it.

After the parade, they dropped the ropes and we were able to make our way to lunch which would be at Skipper Canteen.

IMG_0969.jpg

I'm going to be honest here. This was a no for us. We didn't like it at all. I didn't even get any pictures. We got the "secret" cheese bread app. It was ok for me. Josh said edible. I got the Tastes Like Chicken Because It Is. The chicken was soooo dried out and had very little sauce on it. Josh got the shrimp fried rice app as his entrée and wasn't a fan. All around, we didn't care for it and this will definitely be crossed off the list in the future. It just wasn't for us and I'd much rather take a ride over to the Contemporary for lunch at Steakhouse 71.

We then took a relaxing ride on the Steamboat. No bears were seen on our adventure. ;)
IMG_0970.jpg

Our final LL was for Peter Pan and then Josh had to see one of his favorites, The Carousel of Progress.
IMG_0973.jpg

We had pretty much done all that we had wanted to do. We strolled towards Main Street and got some dessert at the Ice Cream Parlor. We both got the All American Sundae.
IMG_0975.jpg

We made our way to Train Station and finished our treat while we waited on the next train. One had just left, so the CM told us to take our time and enjoy it. I walked around checking out the cool things in the station.

The train arrived and we took a trip around the park.
IMG_0983.jpg

We could see the masses of Halloween party guests ready come into the park and it started drizzling. So once we made it back to the front of the park, we headed back to the resort. Pluto picked us up!
IMG_0984.jpg

This picture was taken at 3:45. So our list from earlier was....

7:45am - 10:15am:
Space Mountain
Tron
Breakfast at Gaston's
Haunted Mansion
Big Thunder Mountain
Pirates of the Caribbean
Tiki Birds
Country Bears

10:15am-3:45pm:
Snack stop
Jungle Cruise
Philharmagic
Little Mermaid
Winnie the Pooh
Buzz
Lunch
Steamboat
Peter Pan
Carousel of Progress
Snack Stop
Train around the park

It was a wonderful day at Magic Kingdom.

We got back to the room and took naps, of course. Our plans were to go to Hollywood for the evening, but the weather had other plans. It was pretty much going to raining the rest of the night and we just didn't feel like getting out in it. We ate dinner in the food court. Just your simple chicken tenders and burger, then watched a movie and relaxed the rest of the night.

That CM sounds a lot like a rude CM I encountered some years ago on Pirates. We were sitting in the front row and I had lifted my foot to the angled part of the boat so that I could more easily tie my shoelace. The CM saw where my foot was (safely inside the boat!!) and yelled at me about removing my foot. I was like "I'm just trying to tie my dang shoe!!!"

Saturday, Sept. 2

We were headed to Hollywood Studios for early entry. We have a HS tradition, so first thing we did when allowed in the park was head to Slinky Dog.
IMG_0990.jpg

We were some of the very first in line, but once we arrived, the CMs informed us that Slinky Dog would not be opening with early entry and didn't know when it would actually open, so we had a choice to make. I knew that Slinky would be hard to get on if we got out of line and that meant we probably wouldn't ride it. Even with the genie, Slinky is typically not available during the hours we were planning to be in the park unless you grab it at 7am. We decided we would wait until at least park opening and then make a decision. Eventually we did see them start testing the ride and figured it would open with the park opening and sure enough it did. We were the first ones to ride that day.

IMG_0991.jpg

IMG_0992.jpg

Happy to be finally moving!

IMG_2848.JPG

Once were off we headed to TSMM. We could see the line for Slinky was now well past the TSL entrance.

IMG_0993.jpg

Greeted by Mr. Potato Head...it's been awhile!

We always try to guess what character we will get. We were both wrong.
IMG_0994.jpg

I beat Josh and yes, I bragged about it for a couple days.
IMG_0995.jpg

Our tradition after this is to usually go ride Aliens, but since we didn't have Cam, we decided to alter our tradition slightly and just head straight for breakfast, which we had mobile ordered on the bus ride over. Josh has to have one of his favorites in all of WDW...the Totchos.

IMG_0996.jpg

I always like getting the tart, but wanted some protein and I am not down with chili for breakfast, so I went with the kid's size breakfast bowl.
IMG_0997.jpg

The breakfast bowl has tots (or potato barrels as Disney likes to call them) with smoked brisket country gravy and scrambled eggs. I highly recommend. I still like the lemon blueberry tart the best, but I enjoy this one as well. They had a sweet potato tart with cinnamon-brown sugar icing, but I was worried I wouldn't like it.

I'm happy we decided to wait it out with Slinky Dog. With breakfast in our bellies, our "slightly altered" TSL rope drop was complete!

While having our breakfast, I got an alert that our LL for Mickey and Minnie's had been changed. I looked and saw it was down. It was however, time for our Rise LL.

IMG_0998.jpg

IMG_1002.jpg

IMG_1004.jpg

Our whole car was full of people who had never ridden before. Their reactions were everything! It made the ride even more fun. We peaked at the MF, but chose not to ride. :depressed:
IMG_1005.jpg

Mickey and Minnie was still down and Aerosmith was down also, so we looked at the showtimes and saw the first Indie show would be starting soon. I wanted to get a coffee, so we walked to Starbucks. The line was crazy long, so opted out. On the way to Indie, we saw Max (Josh's fav). There was no one in line so we went over and got a picture!
IMG_2850.jpg

IMG_1006.jpg

Indie was fantastic. I really love that show. By now, I had been able to get another LL for Tower and still had the other from Mickey and Minnie being down. We got in line for Tower and things came to a standstill for quite awhile.
IMG_0083.jpg

Eventually they came over the intercom and said that one side of the elevators was not running. We waited a bit longer, but we were not moving. Then people started leaving the line in groves. We had a lunch reservation to get to, so we followed along. We had already scanned in, but there are 2 scanners in Tower and it wouldn't let me modify the LL. We had yet to use Genie+ today and since I had purchased it, I wanted to make sure I'd be able to use it. With the way HS was going today, I was starting to think it was going to be a bust. I stopped by guest relations and explained the situation. She saw we had a lunch reservation, so she added Tower back but made it to where we could ride it at any time. Happy with that, we went on way to lunch!

IMG_1013.jpg

Desperate for a coffee, we stopped at the Joffrey's at the skyliner station.
IMG_1015.jpg

This is the toffee flight cold brew. It was ok. Coffee in hand, back to the skyline we go.

We had to wait a bit for our table and had the perfect view.
IMG_1017.jpg

This was me longing to just go jump in the water!!
IMG_1022.jpg

Soon, we were called to be seated. This was another first for us!
IMG_1024.jpg

IMG_1023.jpg

We looked over the menu, but it felt like forever before our waiter stopped by. We gave him our drink order and food order. Our food order was delivered by someone from the kitchen.

For my entrée, I got the burger with onion rings and loved it. Josh got the french dip sandwich.
IMG_1025.jpg

Josh was out of water and I downed my drink quickly once I started eating, but our waiter was no where to be found.
IMG_1026.jpg

We had started eating our ice to try and quench our thirst! Finally, I was able to flag down our waiter to ask for a refill. He took our dessert order at that time. We got the Snickers Sundae!!
IMG_1027.jpg

This has the marshmallow sauce in it. @Tuvalu I see why you like it so much! Oh my, I was digging it out of there. I told Josh I would be getting your choice of dessert next time we are here just for that sauce!!

We stopped at the bathrooms and I noticed this guy.
IMG_1028.jpg

While at lunch, I had been able to book a 3rd LL for Aerosmith. We looked at the app before heading back because we said that if everything was still down, we were just going to not go back, but things looked to be running again and now we had 3 LL stacked and ready to go.

We did Mickey and Minnie's first, then Tower.

We got in line for the coaster and since it had been down for a long time, the LL was kind of long as well, but it was moving. When we got in the loading area, there was no music playing. It was kind of earie. Then at the end, we got stuck in the tunnel. It was getting hot and that seat is not a very good one to be stuck in. I was so happy to get off and better yet, happy to finally be leaving HS!
