Hurricane Dennis

Wow.The impact was summed up for me on CNN, when a Ramada sign that withstood Hurricane Ivan was completely obliterated. I wonder if, when the eye lets up, the winds will blow it back up the street into the hotel...

Ok....it's over for me! YIPPIE :sohappy: It wasn't bad at all. There were a few hard gusts and a couple of hard periods of rain. THe worse part was losing power at 1:30 and not getting it back until 6:30. I'm just glad it wasn't out as long as it was after Ivan We got lucky! And VERY blessed! Hang on Elizabeth. It will be over before it even gets started good. This is NOTHING like Ivan

Most of the damage in P'cola area is from structures that were damaged during Ivan and had not been repaired yet.

I lost power last night and still do not have it, at home, but at work we have it.

Power just came back on. :sohappy: I hated losing power and not being able to watch the storm on the net or tv as it came up. At least we have a gas stove and I could cook dinner. lol

Kadee, you are right. This was NOTHING like Ivan. :sohappy: But wow, the rain was COLD. :lol: I had to take the pup out to potty and we were both had to wrap up in blankets to get warm. :lol:

I'm so glad that everyone is ok and Dennis wasn't bad. I-65 south is a mess with people going back home. I'm so glad they are able to go back home today and have homes to go to.

Oh Corrus, those pictures tell such a sad story.

The last picture of the water tower... Our local tv station was on constant coverage and that water tower has a camera on it that they showed live as the storm came in. They also showed one that shows the water and it was very interesting to watch as the storm came in.
