When I was just a little girl,
I asked my mother, What will I be?
Will I be pretty?
Will I be rich?
Here's what she said to me

Que sera, sera,
Whatever will be, will be.
The future's not ours to see.
Que sera, sera,
What will be, will be...

Ok, I need huggles now. :(

I've been so excited about my upcoming Disneyland trip. But now, I dunno, the magic of that trip seems to be crumbling. I think my trip may have come at the worse possible time for Disneyland. With their 50th celebration coming next year, they're making a lot of changes. First, I heard that this summer, Sleeping Beauty Castle could be wrapped in scaffolding. And now, I hear their only fireworks show "Believe" will be gone before I even get there. No castle? No fireworks? I guess this would seem trivial but if you've talked to me, you know how much I adore the fantasy side of Disney, much more than anything else. I mean, I remember on my WDW trip, I spent a good amount of time just being under the castle, not doing anything, just being there and I was so happy. My e-ride night, all I did that night was just stand by the glowing castle, that's all I wanted to do. And I remember when I saw the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks, it was raining and everyone was running for cover, but I just stood there in the middle of Main Street, refusing to budge. I didn't want to miss it, no matter what. Now, it's just removing those two things from DL, especially with this being my first visit, would really take a lot out of it I think. :( I really hope this doesn't happen. Save your refurbishment till after I leave! *crosses fingers*

That's awful. :( DL is gonna be a disappointment even for me this summer. I can't imagine how much of a disappointment it will be to big Disney fans like you who only get this one shot at it... :(

**huge huggles**

Vince, think about the positives, not the negatives. Its your first trip there, there must be something else that you are looking forward to. I really don't know anything about DL, but how about comparing some of their rides to WDW? How about the atmosphere, plants/trees? How are they different? There has to be something else that will catch your attention.

There are. I'm still excited to go, I guess. There are many more things to do and see. But me and why I love Disney, I mean. Some go for the rides. Others go for the dining. And so on. I go for the fantasy stuff like the castle and the fireworks. I've said countlessly, if I could only have one thing from WDW, it would be to just sit under the castle. I'm sure I'll have fun, it's just now a few big parts of the magic will be missing. :(

Vince, I bet you'll still love it! I've never been to DL, but those who have assure me that there's LOTS of magic to be had there, espcially since it was the FIRST Magic Kingdom! Go with an open mind. If you're a worrier (like me), stop reading guidebooks and reports, and just experience it when you get there. :)

This is some kind of conspiracy isn't it? Take away the sentimental stuff to force me to go on the thrill rides. :dazzle:

Vince...DL's nice...not WDW...but its nice...you'll have a great time...even with all the rehabs and stuff....it has a different type of magic than WDW...since everything is more compact and close together....DCA is great...if you want some magic go into the animation attraction....it will give you goosebumps....

Yes! I spend about 2 hours each day I go just sitting in there and drawing. There's characters that go in there now, too, so last time, Sorcerer Mickey and Woody actually walked over to where I was, and sat dwn on either side of me and watched me draw. Coolest experience all day...

Besides which, Ursula can steal your voice! :D
