Do you really mean 8am-12pm (4 hours)? If that's all the time you have, you'll only get to "hit the high spots." If you're looking to do nearly everything and you actually have an entire day, check touring plans' "Ultimate Touring Plan" for the Magic Kingdom.

No matter how much time you have, the best strategy is always to arrive before park opening, hit the most popular things first (e.g., the Mountains, Peter Pan, Pooh, Jungle Cruise, Buzz), and/or get fastpasses for later. Then as the crowds begin to build, move on to the attractions that are less popular or for which lines build slowly. By mid-afternoon (and if you're not trying to do absolutely everything), you'll have covered most of the park and can relax and revisit your favorite attractions. Check the TImes Guide for that day to see what entertainment is available, and plan around any parades, etc. that you want to see. For dining, we've never had a bad experience and it depends on what kind of food you like. Visit the dining section of this site for menus for the restaurants in each park and browse through them. If you plan to eat at a non-standard time (e.g., before 11:30am or after 2pm for lunch, or before 5:30pm or after 8:00pm for dinner), you'll have better seating options and more prompt service.

Good luck - I'm sure it will be a fantastic day!

When I went to the world a couple of years ago we toured the Magic Kingdom in two days with touringplans.com. It was great because we showed up before the park opened and hit most of the major attractions and was finished by 12PM. It can be done but you will most likely have to go back and forth between lands and get Fastpasses for some attractions. Go to www.touringplans.com or buy the Unofficial Guide book. The book has plans in the back of the book but the website offers more plans.

Any way you look at it, you will have a great time because you are in the Magic Kingdom!!

8 AM - 12 PM is only 4 hours, so I would hit it fast and hard. Grab a FP from Space and head to Frontierland. Run like hell.

I don't mean to be petty, but can you use a left justification in your posts. When reading through threads your posts look like a center justified signatures and slow the flow of reading.

Heading for the great escape.
As you state the whole day, Im assuming you mean midnight, at the oasis.
Personally Id head to SM at opening and work my way from there. Fast passing the other two mountains.and the usual over crowded suspects.
given the full day Id also head to Kona Cafe for lunch so you can get a decent break and a decent bite to eat away from the usual chaos of in park eateries.

Going on the assumption that you mean 8am to 12 midnight and that there are no small children with you I would recommend that you start at either Adventure Land or Future Land, fast pass the rides in that area you most want to ride and then do whatever other attractions interest you while waiting for your fast pass time. Do about half of the park and then stop for lunch. The Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern or Plaza Restaurant are our favorite table service restaurants. Cosmic Rays is our favorite quick service restaurant but Pecos Bill’s is also good. After lunch you might want to leave the park for a short break to digest and ride the monorail to one of the resorts where you can sit in the lounge or just sit in the lobby and rest and relax and to give your senses a break. If you are staying on property you might want to go back to your resort for a swim and to clean up. After resting awhile go back and hit it again from where you left off. The thing is to pace yourself it’s a marathon not a sprint, enjoy.

As other have said, I'm assuming you mean until 12am. If this is the case than I would start in Adventureland and go clockwise around the park. Columbia Harbor House has good sandwiches, or if you want a TS meal, Crystal Palace is a great place for lunch. I would also suggest leaving the park for dinner and heading to a resort on the monorail, this way you get a little break from the crowds and can sit and relax. If you go over to the Contemporary, they have a nice little walking trail to the MK that is faster than riding the monorail around the loop and it gives you a chance to digest your meal. I would pick out a nice place to watch the fireworks and parade, and grab a snack from the bakery or the ice cream parlor. We are actually going to MK on the 30th from 8:30 until midnight and we have early ADR's for Cali Grill, then its back to MK for MNSSHP. I'm hoping that I don't kill my bf with the long day! One more suggestion, don't plan an early morning for the next day this way you can be well rested for the next park and not be cranky.

So how would you use or plan out you day in Magic Kingdom from 8am-12pm? - I would use a touring plan from touringplans.com
What Rides first? Depending on what you were interested in, I would trust the touring plan
Where would you eat? Plaza or Coulmbia Harbour House for Lunch, Liberty Tree for dinner
What show's would you watch? I would watch the nighttime parade and fireworks

We need time for things to happen.
You'll be there at rope drop - You're already off to a good start. To me the time of the year going at a steady pace you'll be able to hit anything worth doing at the MK.
I agree with other posters that if you're looking for a solid plan of attack to follow then check out touringplans.com.

As far as places to eat in the MK -

Columbia Harbor House or Sunny's for Lunch
and for dinner
Liberty Tree Tavern.

That's my 2 cents. Have fun!

For as much as I love the MK, if you're talking from 8 AM until midnight, I'd schedule a quick out-of-the park break at one of the MK area resorts for either lunch or dinner. That is a long day to be in the crowds and on your feet.

I'd hit either Fantasyland or Tomorrowland (whichever one is biggest priority to you) first and would make good use of Fastpass all day.

What Rides first? If you want to try everything at least once, hit high volume attractions at the beginning and end of your day when lines are thinner and plan your fast passes for the others. The middle of your day is more than enough to hit up the lower wait stuff. Get a fastpass for Peter Pan... for whatever reason waits are usually terrible throughout the day and a lot of times, they stay that way even until near close. Do the Haunted Mansion at night, the mood is so much better!
Where would you eat? For lunch I'd do Cosmic Ray's, Pecos Bill's or CHH. I'm not a huge fan of the MK dinner options so I'd suggest finding an awesome place at a monorail resort so the travel time is quick and hit that up. If you're insisting on staying in the park, Liberty Tree Tavern or Tony's I guess.
What show's would you watch? etc. At the very least, catch the fireworks and night parade but watch what you have time for and get in more if you're ahead of schedule. Get to each a little early and find a spot because if the park is packed, your view could end up being terrible. Literal walls of people to break through for a decent view if the crowd is thick.

Quickly: No Table service restaurants as they will take too much time. Columbia, Caseys and Dole Whip to wash it down. 3 mountains of course, buzz, cop, POC and Fireworks.

Have fun

BE there at rope drop, ride the mountains, Peter Pan, and check out Fantasyland in the morning...Columbia Harbour for lunch. After lunch you should be able to hit PoC, HM, IASW, etc. I would definitely have an ADR for dinner, even if just to take a load off. Try for 7:30-8:30. You should be able to handle the rest of the evening after dinner. Shoot for BoG or Liberty Tree! You shouldn't have any problems riding the rest of the rides after 9:00 P.M.

Enter at rope drop and starting in Adventureland with the Pirates, I'd just make my way around the park. By time you hit Cosmic Rays it would be lunchtime. Since you only have the one day I'd skip taking the time go leave the park to rest. Use fast passes where necessary. Find a spot early for the 3:00 parade and later in the evening for the Fireworks. Have a great time!

If you get there at 8am and stay until midnight during a season that isn't peak, you shouldn't have trouble seeing everything. We do and we go in September and stay open-close.
