How to keep track of Key to Kingdom card?

I was just wondering, how does everyone keep track of their Key to the Kingdom card/room key? Does it come with a lanyard so you can wear it around your neck or do you just have to keep it in your wallet. Sorry, I just can't remember from the last time we went. Thanks in advance. :hammer:

I know that they sell lanyards around the world that work great. But I usually keep mine in the outside pouch of the small bag I carry. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I keep mine in a totally uncool Mom oriented hip bag that I only take to Disney. The last time we were there, they told us to either keep the cards away from either the cell phone or other credit cards [don't remember which one] so the magnetic strip is not erased. Any validity to this?

The memory thing is true. I thought it was with cameras and phones? This happened to someone in our group in december. I don't recall what she had her key on though. As for where do I keep mine, in my pocket. I know some are going to say that is too risky and too easy to lose, but I have never had any problems.

YES! My DH would not listen to this warning and had his card erased MULTIPLE times before it finally sunk in that he should keep it away from his cell phone. :hammer:

We use the Lanyard method, its also a great way to hold fast passes. keeping them in my wallet took to much digging at fast pass kiosks, ans buybig food with it. The Lanyard works great. And it holds the occasional pin or two. We also kept them in with our camera at one time, but they kept falling to the groung when we were in a hurry to grab the camera. We naver had anything erased no matter where we kept it, including in my pocket next to my cell phone, camera, or enriched uranium.

Absolutely! Keep those cards AWAY from your credit cards and cell phones!

I carry mine in a zipped inner section of my lightweight Disney tote bag. Since I always wind up carrying everyone else's stuff , I need that bag anyway!

A few years ago I bought a small plastic, water-tight case that hangs around my neck at Sesame Place while on vacation. It must be at least 10 years old and seems indestructible. It's just big enough to carry the room keys, a credit card, some cash, and (until a few months ago) a pack of cigs. Every time we're at WDW people ask where I got it, then I have to flip it around so the Sesame Place logo shows. They're always disappointed.

It's nice because I always have the essentials right in front of me and nothing gets wet on water rides like Splash or Kali.

My DH2B usually keeps mine in his wallet. When we go, I really only need mine to enter the park. Whenever we're on the dining plan, you can swipe any key card to pay so, its just gotten so much easier to keep them all in one place. He's got this small wallet that slips out of his main wallet that only holds just our IDs, key cards, and one credit/debit card. I'm thinking of getting a small wallet fir my ID and key card for our honeymoon in Sept. Keeping just plastic stuff in our pockets makes for no soggy money after Splash mountain.

i put in in my wallet in with my license, credit card, and other cards....or even the cash..be very careful when u go on the rides, which is why i give it to my mom or dad or whomever isnt riding inour group. i also suggest the lanyard with the plasic cover, or the platic holder thing, it works great at the water parks

We carry ours around our necks in one of those waterproof plastic cases that are designed to be used at the water parks. You can buy them at most of(if not all of)the resorts now, with the resort logo on them or you can buy one with the DVC logo on it. We love ours and wish we had decided to use them sooner(we just started using them two trips ago). You can fit your room key, annual pass, ID and maybe a few credit cards in one and if I remember correctly they're relatively cheap.

I have a small front-pocket wallet that I use when I'm on vacation. It's just big enough to hold the essentials: license, Annual Pass, room key and the Disney Gift Card I'm using for spending money. It also includes a built in money clip, which I keep $20 cash for random things I can't use the gift card for. It also conveniently holds FastPasses.

Definitely be careful of the cell phone/magnetic strip thing. One trip my niece had to get he AP replaced 5 times. We teased her that she was trying to get one of each character. She de-magnetized the strip with her cell phone twice before they explained this would happen, she also forgot it was in her pocket and jumped into the pool back at the resort after being at TL all day (she was wearing board shorts over her suit) and I can't remember how else she de-magnetized the AP. She got really quick at getting a new one at guest services each subsequent time. I have a vacation wallet that I use that is just large enough for AP, ID, credit card and resort ID. This slips into my pocket or small tote. Now that my son is 21 and wear cargo shorts or slacks everywhere, I no longer need to carry his stuff. He has actually carried my asthma inhaler the last trip since I didn't want to bring my tote with me.

I use the card holder off of a lanyard. I keep all of ours together and add our fast passes to it. They are all together and I don't have to worry about pulling one out and maybe dropping another. My son usually wears some type of cargo pocket shorts and I keep that in one of his zipper pockets :)
