How to Get to other Resorts from Wilderness Lodge?

Hi all,
I am staying at the Wilderness Lodge last week of August with Free Dining and this trip I made a lot of ADRs at other resorts. I know the boat goes directly to the Contemporary...but when we go to the Grand Floridian and Poly, do we just hope right on the monorail from the Contemporary? Also would we take a bus to the Beach Club? Any help? Thanks:shrug:

When we stayed at the YC and GF, we explored the other resorts. We have also stayed at the WL too. But when we went exploring, we got kind of creative. You try to stream line it as much as possible. Yes, take the boat to MK and then hop on the monorail to get to the Poly, GF and Contemporary. You can also take the Boat to the MK and then just hop on a bus. We did that a lot. So when we were at GF and needed to get the AK Lodge, we took mono to MK and then hopped on the bus to the AK Lodge.

You can also take a boat from the WL directly to the Contemporary (it's less than a 5 minute trip) and then from there take the monorail to the the GF and Poly. To get to the other resorts, I'd take a boat to the MK and then the bus from there to where ever you want to go. If you don't mind walking, you could take a bus to DHS and then walk to the EPCOT resorts if you wanted to go to the BC, YC, or BW.

You both had great suggestions. Other ways from the WL to the monorail resorts is once you get to the MK you can take a boat that goes to the GF and than the Polynesian. Also during certain times of the year the bus from the WL would stop at the Polynesian but most of the time it does not share a bus with the other resorts. One other way to get to any of the resorts is go to some other location like a park or Downtown Disney and take the bus to what ever resort you would want to go to. I suggest checking out and eating at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

You already have the right solution for the Poly and GF......boat to the Contemporary then monorail. For the beach club I would take the but to DHS then either walk or take the boat to the Beach Club.

The general rule of thumb is to go from resort to resort is to go to the park nearest to your destination and then take a bus from there. I tend to avoid recommending using DTD has a hub of sorts due to is bad location and the really long bus routes to get to and from.

Just a small point, we found the bus to and from MK much quicker than the boat, if you're in a hurry you may prefer it to the more scenic and relaxing boat trip.

You can take the boat to MK and get anywhere else from there either by bus or via the monorail. My suggestion to get to the Beach Club is to take the bus to Studios and then the bus to the YC or BC. But either way works.

When we go between resorts, we also often will just grab a taxi. A bit of money, but then we don't need to worry about leaving so much time. Depends on how our day is going too.

We had an early morning character breakfast at the GF last trip and we were able to get an AK bus to take us directly to the GF. Everything else- we connected at MK...we found boats to MK more plentiful than buses, so we usually went that way to get to MK.

When we were there in May there were only buses running between the Studios and Boardwalk/Epcot resorts when the boats weren't running due to a thunderstorm.

One exception would be if you're staying at Saratoga Springs, especially the Congress Park section. Rather than wait for a bus to a park, followed by a bus or alternate transport to the resort you want to visit, you can just walk to the Marketplace bus stop and wait for a resort bus there.

Quite true.

If Epcot is open when you have your reservations at the BC, you can take the boat from WL to the Contemporary, the monorail over to Epcot, walk through Epcot, go out the back entrance between England and France, and walk to the BC. The BC is definitely much closer to the back of Epcot than it is to DHS. It might take a little longer than the buses, but it will be a more scenic trip. Plus you can hit some Epcot rides along the way. If your reservations are late (past park closing times), you have to take the bus to Downtown Disney and transfer there.
