How not to start your WDW vacay

We were stopped at a red light in a left turn lan, waiting for the green, so we could get on the main highway to drive towards the airport. A woman going at least 60 (limit on this road) failed to brake and slammed into the back of my stopped SUV. The impact forced us into the F150 in front of us. My vehicle is likely totaled, but thankfully we are ok minus some bumps and aches.

We rebooked on a later flight...delayed about an hour...but hopefully we'll make it safely to AKL tonight.

For the past five months or so I've been commuting to and from work by car for the first time, so I've had more opportunity to observe other drivers in action. If a genie could give me three wishes, after unlimited wealth and world peace, I'd ask to have 10 drivers who don't use their turn indicators to explain to me honestly why they don't use them. I just want to know what's going through their heads.

My uncle does not use his...he used to be too busy reading his newspaper while driving. Now, since he does not read the newspaper while driving anymore (thank the Lord!), I think he just got into the habit of not using them, so he doesn't. I get very alert and anxious when I ride with him.

Thanking God you and your family are okay. Enjoy you vacation. Even though dealing with insurance and the car will be rough when you get back the important things are still intact. Have a great vacation.

Thank you, everyone :) It was one of the most terrifying events of my life, but I'm still so thankful that we were able to walk away from it. We also had some wonderful sheriffs, EMTs, and firefighters who were just super with the kids.

And while we were delayed by several hours (mechanical and weather), SWA did get us on a late direct flight into MCO. I'm sure it was the events of the day, but I cried as we drove under the Maingate. I'm now sitting on our balcony at AKL relaxing while everyone else sleeps.

We got to Animal Kingdom Lodge today! LOVE IT! So sorry to hear about your mess!

I am so glad that you are okay. She was probably texting when she hit you. I have responded to far too many accidents involving texting lately. One young female driving a brand new (literally two days off the lot) Mustang GT slammed into the rear of a stopped semi trailer at a red light. After she was extracted from the vehicle I found her phone in the floor board. I activated the phone and she was in mid-text. About a week ago I was traveling up I-65 and a guy ran me off the road while driving beside me texting. He nearly wrecked when I hit my horn as I went into the median to avoid his stupid pimped out Civic.

This is exactly why I drive with one hand on the horn. Had a guy weave into my lane just this morning.

I have a set of these under my hood hooked up to a air compressor in the back in my Jeep Liberty 4x4. Scares the hell outta people who cut me off or do something stupid while driving.

I have always wanted a big semi truck horn on my car! LOL!
Actually, I would like a PA system, so I can yell at people. Particularly those on the phone (whether talking or texting). ;)

Would love to know this myself-My husband says turn signals must be optional on a lot of vehicles these days. I got into a verbal altercation the other day with a man for not using his and he yelled 'Didn't you see my break lights?" since when do break lights indicate a turn?
