How much to tip Mousekeepers

What amount would be good to tip our Mousekeepers at WL? We stayed at AS Movies several years ago and it never occurred to me to tip them.

If there are clean glasses - $2 - $4 per day, depending on how big of mess you make

If the glasses were wiped clean by a toilet washing rag - less $$

We had a wonderful housekeeper at WL named Mimi. She left all sorts of towel animals and stock piled me up on shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion. We gave her $3 a day and a $5 the last day.

I generally leave $3 or $4 per day. If the room requires more than the normal attention then I would leave a few extra. I used to leave 1 lump at the end of my trip, but then read what about the person who may have worked my room the 1st 5 days and gets nothing and the person who works the room for 2 days gets $20 or more.

I have always left $5 a day but when we went at Christmas in 05 I left $20 for the person on Christmas Eve,Christmas Day and New Years Day. I never know if I am getting the same person every day so I dont like to leave it until the end.

I go with the dollar per day per person occupying the room. If it's a day I get something special like a wash cloth animal or the stuffed animals rearranged to my kids delight, I tip extra.

We are a family of 4. I generally leave $5/day (mostly because we're more likely to have a 5 dollar bill rather than 4 singles). On our final day we generally leave $20 just because we feel good doing it. :)

No one is going to be unhappy if you leave $20 when you check out.
The only problem with this is you usually don't get the same mousekeeper every day, so rather than tipping all of them fairly, you're tipping one of them outrageously.
I usually do $1/person/day unless I'm staying by myself. Then I'll usually do $2/day or leave the do not disturb sign out because I don't need them to make the bed/leave towels and soap every day if I'm by myself.

I think is was discussed in another thread to tip $1 per person per day and $5 total on the last. Most people set up envelopes before they go, with singles in it already (don't remember who said that but i'm going to mtry it on my next trip) and then put out daily.
