How Much Longer Will Coke Dominate WDW?

I won't "attack" you, but I will raise an eyebrow and say "Uhh.... friend, if water makes you sick, you need to see a doctor right away. That's not good at all."

I used to be like that. Plain water never quenched my thirst and it just sat in my belly like a lead weight. It changed some time in my 30s. Now I mostly drink plain water. Bodies are weird.

Someone needs to ask -- so I will: when will WDW offer their guests a choice of fountain beverages? Not everybody likes Coke to the exclusion of all other soft drinks.

As far as I'm concerned, Coke goes flat too fast. Pepsi has a crisper taste. I wouldn't complain if Coke made that Thailand watermelon flavor available in more areas besides Club Cool and the Skipper Canteen (that's if it's still there). I haven't eaten at Skipper Canteen yet and want to try it because of this reason.

Disney could bring in Snapple. Along with Snapple drinks they also have Sundrop (Dew Alternative) and of course Dr. Pepper. Maybe they can sneak it in under a different contract? Dr Pepper Snapple Group for the win!

And Yoo-hoo too!? Dang it Disney why must you torment us with only Coke products?

And Cheerwine too, since we're naming drinks.

Especially since almost everything we eat or drink, be it fruits, veggies, meats, soft drinks... pretty much everything contains water, so they must be sick all the time or will starve to death before long. Just another one of those mind over matter situations were someone has talked themselves into a problem that doesn't really exist OR their source of water has a problem or a chemical added that causes that situation... since our bodies are made up of around 85% water it is unlikely that water would make one sick. Without water we would die within a few days.

Sorry, you are incorrect in your assumption that Coke doesn't need that type of advertising. A few years ago I was on a crew that worked video production for a Mexican concert tour. Down there, big companies (in this case Coke) pay for the tour, hire the crew, hire the bands, etc. It's one big promotion for Coke. They even get the bands to perform Coke jingles. So yes, as a company they are very into promotion, and the idea that they would be into this type of deal with Disney is not at all far-fetched.

Coke has naming rights for these venues, which I am sure are not cheap. It's all about getting your name in front of people, and keeping it there.

Coca Cola Stadium Xi'an Chian
Coca Cola Dome, South Africa
Coca Cola Field, Buffalo NY
Coca Cola Park, Allentown, PA

I doub't Coke gives product to WDW for free, just becaue of the volume, and the fact that is a captive audence. But many established companies (not just Coke) pony up a lot of cash just to be the "Offical XXX of YYY"

I too find Pepsi to be "crisper" than Coke. I drink Sprite or Ginger ale when I fly (why, I don't know, I just always have - I also bring a bottle of water, but I almost always order a Sprite too) and for the 2 or 3 times a year when I actually do drink a soda, a Wild Cherry Pepsi hits the spot - but nobody ever seems to have those (good thing I rarely drink soda)

What I would love to see at WDW is good, brewed, unsweetened iced tea - and yes you can get brewed, unsweetened ice tea at Starbucks.

My favorite Pepsi is Cherry Vanilla Pepsi. I can only find that in maybe one or two gas stations about town. It's sold in the grocery stores near me but they are sold in the 12 can box and I usually enjoy it more from the bottle. The Walmart across the street sells the Wild Cherry flavor and for a while I would stop there on my way to work and buy one.

Make mine Moxie!, aka Maine/NH's 'Cheerwine'
You could find Moxie in Vermont as well. Have to be honest here and say that I really didn't care for it all that much. It was a while ago that I tried it so my memory is not crystal clear about it, but, it seemed to me to be a little bitter. Sort of like a New England Beverly. Cheerwine... is way to good. I love cherry flavor and this one was addictive. I would have happily given up my obsession with Iced Tea and that wouldn't have been a good overall plan.
Just as a clarification, it was a long time ago and I might be confusing it with something else.

Pepsi Max Cherry represent! The king of all sodas.

Like one of the many other great things that people in the UK get. One of of them is the incredible prices you all get with Disney and the opportunity to vacation for 21 days in a row. Imagine saying that with a Pepsi Max Cherry in your hand. Triple whammy!

The thought has gone through my head to stock up my suitcase with a supply before I leave, (How wonderful would sitting on the balcony at OKW, sipping a cold can of Pepsi Max Cherry and watching the golfers be?!) but if my suitcase gets manhandled (and Virgin Atlantic are notorious for not so much loading the suitcases on but throwing them in) there would be a BIG mess. I'm not sure I would appreciate having to wash a load of sticky clothing before I even get to visit a park!!!

One of my housemates has a bit of an addiction to Pepsi Max. He's resorted to bringing a case of it in a carry-on bag in the past. We used to know a CM who would smuggle in some cases of it for us during trips.

*fistbump* I love Moxie!

A thought also occurred to me about not having much luggage weight left over to you know, bring my clothing if I lug a 8 pack of soda in my suitcase, so sadly that may not be practical coming all the way from the UK :(

Having had both Cheerwine is much more approachable as it's an awesome cherry beverage, Moxie is an acquired taste since its flavorants are anise and liquorice along with some secret ingredients
