How Much Longer Will Coke Dominate WDW?

It is even worse for those of us that hate coke and Pepsi, and coke is so dominate they won't even let them have Dr. Pepper which is so ridiculous considering Dr. Pepper is the preferred beverage for most Texans, I wish they would switch to Pepsi just so we could have Dr. Pepper and something to drink.
Dr. Pepper availability in the parks would be due to regional bottling contracts, not The Coca-Cola Company keeping it out.

Disney could bring in Snapple. Along with Snapple drinks they also have Sundrop (Dew Alternative) and of course Dr. Pepper. Maybe they can sneak it in under a different contract? Dr Pepper Snapple Group for the win!

And Yoo-hoo too!? Dang it Disney why must you torment us with only Coke products?

Y'all should just stop drinking Coke or Pepsi anyway and just stick to ice water. No competition or disappointments there *ducking*
Sorry I know people will attack me for this but I hate water, and if I drink it in the morning I will literally get sick to my stomach and stay sick all day., plus if you drink tap water that you are not used to it will make you sick.

The problem is those are all products of the Dr. Pepper company and for some stupid reason in Florida Dr. Pepper is distributed by Pepsi. I would be happy if they just had some Mr Pibb available somewhere besides the rare soda machine.

Maybe well water, but city tap water? Unless the tap is contaminated that isn't a concern

Sorry you hate water but as much as I joked, drinking water vs soft drinks has really saved me a ton of calories. I'd rather use my calories on food, not drink.

I'm not a Coke person...I HATE it, but drink it if I don't have a choice...I rent a car JUST so I can drive off property to a nearby 7-11, to get my Diet Pepsi Super Big Gulp fix + I bring a 2L bottle into the park everyday...my wife will ONLY drink Poland Spring water (only available in the NE)...we ship a case down the week before so it's waiting for her when we arrive. It is what it is...unfortunately, Pepsi will never make it back into WDW.

For a brief time a worked a vending machine route and during that timeI heard stories about the war that raged on between Pepsi and Coke. My understanding from that time is that when Pepsi bought KFC/Taco Bell/Pizza Hut most every company that profited off of food service dropped Pepsi, none of them wanted to put money in the pocket of a competitor.

I'm not a coca-cola drinker (it makes me ill), I only drink bottled water and the honest tea (bottled) they sell at places in the park, usually kiosks like in liberty square and frontierland in MK.

The price of the product is peanuts compared to the advertising value. I can easily see a model where Coke was given to Disney for free. It would be the cheapest and most valuable advertising the Coca-cola company could ever imagine.
That is correct, and if it were any place other then Coca Cola I would agree, but, Coke has no need to give anything away. They have been established far longer then Disney. If anything, having coke at Disney is beneficial to Disney. Coke doesn't need that type of "costly" advertising. So, I guess I'm thinking that, sure, they discount it very well based on the quantities purchased, but, Coke as a major investment in the formula and content of Coke... I don't see them not making a profit reinforced by having Disney sign off that no other brand will be in any Disney Park. Captive audience, large consumption, no competition. It only makes sense... if Disney were getting this stuff free they would not have been anywhere near motivated to buy and install equipment to prevent pilferage of the product.

My dad worked for 7-up for 35 years.
I remember him telling me "the cup, straw, and lid cost way more than the soda".
He also said that when there were damaged cases they would bring them back.
They did this not for the undamaged cans of soda, but to crush them for the aluminum.

Says a lot when the container is more valuable (in cash terms) than the product inside.

Sorry, you are incorrect in your assumption that Coke doesn't need that type of advertising. A few years ago I was on a crew that worked video production for a Mexican concert tour. Down there, big companies (in this case Coke) pay for the tour, hire the crew, hire the bands, etc. It's one big promotion for Coke. They even get the bands to perform Coke jingles. So yes, as a company they are very into promotion, and the idea that they would be into this type of deal with Disney is not at all far-fetched.

This is still true. Working in a restaurant, we have people come in every day and want a "free" big cup because they just want water in it.(and of course they throw in some lemons too). Nobody wants to pay for the paper goods because it's "just water". It's not really what you put in it but the cup itself that costs so much. Well that's just another reason to hike up the prices to pay for everyone's "free" water.
