How much is too much for a first timer?

So I've mentioned on here that I'm taking my boyfriend for his first WDW trip this October. We are going for 8 days, hitting up the F&W festival of course and not doing the park hopper option so we can focus on each park since it's his first time. I also have ADR's at both the Contemporary & Polynesian, as well as planning on hitting up the Boardwalk for ESPN & Jellyrolls.

I wanted to do MNSSHP since we will be down there during it and I loved it when I went in the past. However, my DM thinks that it may be TOO much for him on a first trip and may be overwhelming. Thoughts?

If I had someone who's never gone before, I would personally expose them as much as possible. Just make sure he has enough time to rest between days :P

I would say gauge his interests on doing all of this. I know even some of us die hards being in the parks to much can sorta burn us out.I like to go for a few days then have 1 day completely away from resorts/parks to sort of re-charge. Like I said though just ask him if he is feeling overloaded by it all.If so just spend a day at the pool or shopping away from things.

To "not" do MNSSHP when its on while you're there would be a huge mistake. If your mother is worried about overkill then you've basically got four options -
Ignore her :fork: :lookaroun
Do as you're told
Ask your boyfriend for his view :king:
Or cut down elsewhere

"Too much" should be reserved for those under the age of 5!

My thoughts exactly! This is my 9th trip, and my motto has always been do as much as you can while you are there...you can sleep later. However, I don't want him to be overwhelmed. But he's a pretty fun loving guy too.

Do as much as you can, BUT make sure you account for some downtime.

So many people go to Disney and try to get EVERYTHING in. It is alright to spend a couple hours just lounging on the beach or taking a nap in the room. It is alright to sit and eat a Dole Whip while just people watching. It is alright to just stroll through the park taking in all the sights and sounds. So don't plan every minute of the trip. If he doesn't get in a ride, so be it, it just means he will have to come back. Make sure you two both enjoy the trip.

Do as much as possible. Expose him to all the great things disneyworld has to offer, from the parks to shows to dining to resorts etc. I am bringing someone for the first time in November. I have already warned him to be ready for an overdose of disney magic.:sohappy:

Definatly try to get in as much as you can. Something like MNSSHP will be something extra special he can talk about beyond a regular trip to WDW.
