How much are they altering the Country Bear Jamboree?

Bc they’ll always find some reason to call it offensive, non inclusive, or all the other nonsense we all know. Nothing can ever be just fun and not so serious anymore.

Tell me about it. Man, social media and the internet has ruined what used to just be "fun". It is replaced with skepticism.

I guess I look at Frontierland as a 1950's/1960's take on the frontier... i.e. the western expansion. I don't think anyone wants a "Deadwood" version of the old west in the parks, so I'm guessing it's more interest/nostalgia for the Disneyfied version of it as seen on TV, and updating the music to recent IP-based songs might be a little jarring.

If it aint broke......................you know the rest. When you have a cult classic in the parks, you don't mess with it.

I guess you forgot to read Walt’s quote. If you think every single thing should stay exactly the same as it ever was, you’re vacationing in the wrong place.

Not what I was saying at all. But how does this improve the attraction? It doesn't. It already has beloved songs in there. And if you are wondering if kids like it, all three of mine all 12 and under did. Hall of Presidents and Carousel of Progress (another one the modern Disney fans rage at for some reason) were his favorite attractions.

So my question is, the songs that are sung in CBJ are classic old western types. Nothing fits in with Frontierland better than CBJ. It fits like a glove. How does singing "Let it Go" fit in better with the Frontierland theme than what they have now?

It's doesn't. Ppl bring that quote out when you defend anything as being classic or on theme when they don't agree with the content.

No kidding - a Disney discussion board packed with Disney haters.
We love Disney. The fact you can't see current management has ruined many parts of Disney causing true fans to voice their displeasure is not indicative of reality. There were years I was spending $25,000/yr on Disney trips. No one is a bigger apologist than me, but enough is enough.

Disney's stock alone should be enough evidence of their incompetence. These people are idiots and we're talking about it.

Splash Mountain to Tiana.....................Tiki Birds to "New Management" (we all know how that worked out)

And possibly Country Bears too? Let's face it, modern Disney has a poor track record of taking great attractions and having an inferior product take its place. Snow White being demoted to a meet and greet. Yeah, if we are skeptical, then there is certainly good reason to be.

Imagination to the abomination it is now.

Just another tally for you then.
You seem to be irritated that I used a well-known pejorative for the country crowd, used to illustrated that the Country Bear Jamboree, in its current form, reinforces the stigma of Appalachian and southern culture. Obviously, you have taken my comments and opinions personally. Please stop.

I look forward to a new CBJ. It's long overdue. We probably won't see it until 2030 at this rate, so no one is holding their breath.

If anything they could close It by the start of next year for a Summer opening. It took 2 months for them to refurb them from their 2012 Cut Down Jamboree. So, it may or many not be as long to put the new costumes, program and refresh the theater....

Wouldn't that be more reason for you to want them to not chop it up more? They took 2-3 minutes off of the show, but they didn't change the show.
I've always found Country Bear Lite (My friend's nickname for the 2012 version) a far inferior version of the show, and so I don't mind seeing it replaced. If they had kept the original with Devilish Mary, Fractured Folk Song, and the between song dialogue I would have a different opinion.

I honestly have no idea why they shortened it by 3 minutes. What was the point? I am trying to think about the offended crowd, but these weren't those types of songs I don't think. I could see if there was a line up around the building waiting to get in and they want to shorten it to make the line seem shorter but I think they always pretty much got everyone in for every show in the waiting room to being with.

No one told you to spend $25,000 a year on Disney trips, and clearly, if you are wealthy enough to do that, you are wealthy enough to find a different vacation spot that will meet your needs without making you so very upset.
