How Many Times To Visit Each Park?

This Sept. will be my 6th trip to WDW.
We don't get the park hopper.
We will be staying for a week.

How many times do you recommend visiting each park?...
We usually visit the MK more than once because it is my favorite.
We also usually visit Epcot more than once because it takes us more than one day to cover it all.
We usually visit DHS & the AK for a full day each.

What is your recommendation?

Thanks!

Hi

We normally visit from the UK from 16 days and would typicaly visit -

MK - 6 times - Love this park and the fireworks and spectromagic
EpCOT - 4 times - maybe another couple but just at night to watch Illumination
Studios - 2 times - although next visit maybe more due to Toy story
Animal Kingdom - 2 times

We normally select the parks depending on the extra magic, and also leave half way through to go To Blizzard Beach for a few hours in each afternoon

Cant wait to be back in the Magic

Russ JT got it about right, IMO.

Last time we were there, we did it this way:

Arrive mid-day: .5 day Epcot
Day 2: MK
Day 3: Epcot
Day 4: Half-day MK, half day downtown disney--Cirque!
Day 5: AK
Day 6: DHS
Day 7: Epcot
Day 8: Park Hop! Did all four parks! Whee!:sohappy:
Day 9: Fly home.

That ends up this way
2.75 days Epcot
1.75 days MK
1.25 AK
1.25 DHS

Give or take .02 or so here and there, lol.

I normally hop, as I prefer to have that flexibility to visit any park when crowd levels allow, but also go to the park of my choice for the evening performances that I want to see.

My recent January 8.5 day trip ended up spread this way across the parks

1.25 days Epcot
1.75 days MK
1.5 days AK
2.5 days DHS
1.5 Non-Park Free time (one day dedicated to sleep and a timeshare sales pitch)

Our trip for this May is shaping up this way, according to our preliminary schedule.
2.00 days Epcot
2.50 days MK (might end up shorter because of SM closure)
1.25 days AK
1.75 days DHS (thanks to TS Midway Mania)

So given the above historical references for our trips, I would do the following for your non-hopping trip (assumes a 6 full day trip, with arrival and departures being days 1 and 8:
2 days Epcot
2 days MK
1 days AK
1 days DHS

For the 8 days that my sister and I will be in the World in July, we have planned as follows:

Sunday/Arrival Day- arrive early AM/swim and EMH @ MK

Monday- Full day at MK w/ dining reservations/ possible switch to EPOCT in the evening

Tuesday- Full day at EPCOT w/ dining reservations

Wensday- Full day at AK w/ swimming in late afternoon/ possible visit to DHS in evening

Thursday- Full day DHS w/ dining reservations/ evening at DTD

Friday- Open day for swimming at resort and visiting DTD/DHS at night

Saturday- Full day at MK w/ dining

Sunday/ Departure Day- get an early swim in/ shop around AKL- go back to airport :(

I like to have a set schedule, but having the hopper allows us to go wherever we want without hassle! Especially if we want to get another ride in somewhere or visit a store....

Park hoppers are no use to me. Sometimes to get their money's worth out of them, I think people leave one park too early to get to another. Take your time people, absorb the Disney atmosphere. Unless you're on a very tight time schedule, there's plenty in each park to keep you busy for a full day.

On an average yearly trip, I generally go to Epcot 2 times and the others once. Plus a visit to one of the water parks. I'd probably visit the Magic Kingdom 2 times as well, but I live so close to Disneyland park in California that one day at the MK tides me over for the year.

We always do the park hopper for the flexibility. There are occasions when we go back to the same park we were in earlier after the break, but we often head somewhere else either because of dinner reservations or night time shows rotation or whatever. Also given the EMH either in search of or to avoid. Given 6 days and no park hopper, I think you have the plan correct: MK2, EC2, DHS1, and AK1.

Since I'm an Epcot lover... we usually visit Epcot the most! This past trip november, we went to Epcot a whole lot!! It was the 1st park we went to, and the last park at the end of our stay.

I'd say:
Epcot- 3 days
MK- 2 days
DHS- 1/2 day
AK- 1/2 day

Since we go at a time when the parks aren't open so late, we go to DTD a few nights during our weeks stay. I love DTD, and we stay at Port Orleans so having the boat transportation makes it even better to go to DTD!

When I go next August this is what we will plan to do, we have 9 full days and a half day at end.
MK- 2 Days
EP-2 Days
AK-1 Day
DHS/MGM- 1 Day
Well try and squeeze both waterparks in on one day, or perhaps just go to Blizzard Beach.
Universal Studios- 1 Day
IOA- 1 Day

I completely disagree, and find it rather presumptuous to imply that people aren't absorbing the atmosphere or are rushing if they park hop. I have been more than able to complete Animal Kingdom and DHS in a little more than 4 hours...DHS is tricky because of the show schedules...but it can all be done without rushing. And even if if people find it does take a full day...perhaps they don't want to take a full day?

When I went in March, I arrived at DHS around 1pm. I stayed until it closed at 8pm...I then decided to get in a few rides at EPCOT...after Test Track, Mission:SPACE, the Nemo ride and Soarin', I decided that I still wanted more. The Magic Kingdom was open 'til 1am that night for EMH, so I decided to go there and did quite a bit. I never once rushed...mainly because I still had three more days to revisit each of those parks. But my enjoyment was no less than it was when I spent more time in the parks.

Sure, it was a lot of walking and I did a lot of stuff, but I was able to fully experience the parks at my own pace. I always visit each park at least twice on my visits. Since the parks don't all generally close at the same time, the hoppers come in handy when wanting to visit another park after the park you are in is closed. I've never once cut time short in one park because I planned on visiting another park.

But also, I am not one to sit and relax by the pool. I want to be in the parks. Also, keep in mind, the more people go, they may discover attractions they don't like and don't feel the need to experience again...which reduces the time they need to experience any particular park.

I have ours planned for:

2 days MK
2 days Epcot
1 day Animal Kingdom
1 day Hollywood Studios

We have 1/2 day on our arrival day and until 3:00 p.m. on our departure day and we'll play it by ear and we do have park hopper just in case.
