How many persons per room?

For the last few my wife and I, two young kids and gramma (wifes mom, yes we get along.. ), have been going done and staying at CBR. I was checking prices on line today and noticed that now that my youngest is 3, they no longer will also all of us to stay in one room?

What we normally do is bring a cott for my son (4) and my daughter would sleep with gramma, and ofcourse my wife and I in the other bed.

I always thought that the limit was 5 per room in the regular rooms? Has this changed, or do I need to call directly?

For regular rooms, it is 4 and a portable crib for those under 2. You can sleep 5 at POR with a room with a trundle bed though, or you might want to try a suite an All-Stars suite.

Now that your youngest is 3, Disney considers your party as "5" rather than "4+". This leaves you with several options:

Deluxes - Almost all of them have a standard room that sleeps 5 (two regular beds and a daybed).
Moderates - Port Orleans-Riverside, Alligator Bayou section only. These rooms have two regular beds plus a small trundle bed that is fine for kids under 12.
Values - Family suites sleep 6.

The least expensive option is Port Orleans-Riverside. We've stayed there twice with our family of 5, and we love it. The amenities are very similar to the Deluxes, and the food court is very good. Highly recommended.

We make one trip a year, and don't want to break the bank just on rooms. PO/RS might be an option being it is still a moderate resort like CBR.

It will be a tight fit at Riverside with three adults. You'd be much better off at a family suite at the All-Stars.

All Star Movie Suites will probably cost you a little more than POR, but it will give you more room. Only thing to keep in mind is there are only 145 Suites and they sell out very quickly.

I worked for Disney DRC for almost 5 years and they never allowed more than 4 plus an infant at any of the moderates other than POR which has 2 double beds & trundle. The trundle will hold a child up to 9 years old.

The other thing to consider is 2 connecting rooms at any of the values. It's slightly cheaper than the suites, and if all you need the rooms for is sleeping and changing clothes, it could work well for you. Just be sure to specify "connecting" (not "adjoining") rooms when you book.

The only time they will guarantee them is when a family is traveling with more children than adults, i.e. 2 Adults & 3 Children. I realize that, but I've never had a problem with it. They do their best to accomodate your requests, and if you specify "connecting", you're more likely to get it.

Your right, they always try their best to accomodate requests, but I wouldn't want anyone to think this would be guaranteed. It then only create problems for the kids at the front desk. That is why we always told people, "it's only a request, we cannot guarantee it."

Because of the number of adults, adjoining with probably work out OK, too.

Doing it this way would also give Gramma her own bed, or even her own room.
