Wow you must have a large family or just go every month. I wish I could afford that many. Just the 350 we have gave us two mortgage loans with them and about 30,000 in debt to pay off, but were halfway there.Right now, I have 1,331 points.
Just 270 per year... enough for two trips per year, eight days each, at VWL. The kids are grown... they can get their own DVC .
My parents are full of awesome. They scored a Disney Bay Lake Tower DVC through The Timeshare Store for $15,000 with 75 points remaining this year and 180 points beginning in February. They wound up presenting the DVC to me today (Father's Day) as an early graduation present (I'm graduating with my Ph.D. in Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University next year). They will assume all membership fees, taxes, and other expenses until such a time when they can no longer pay it. At that point, the unit will be completely turned over to me.
Was I expecting this? Not really. Though, my parents were talking about doing a DVC for themselves, but since they're retired and can't do Disney like they used to, I kinda/sorta expected it. Was it a nice Father's Day gift? Absolutely! Will I be the nice guy and let them use it? Sure!! Why not?
Enough but somehow not enough.
Actually, there is just the two of us. We eat up our points by booking 1-BR units for 32-33 nights per year.
I just added on another 25 points at VGF today, so I'm at 1,356, which is more than I need. I will be selling some contracts to cut back.
We use our vacation days almost exclusively at Disney, so it works for us. I'm sure others would get sick of so much Disney!
