Make reservations for the kids' clubs as soon as your booking window for activities opens. Also for character meet and greets and any port adventures. You can purchase a photo package, which I think is cheaper to do so before boarding.

Make sure you've got the necessary paperwork for your grandkids and not just their passports. Their parents will need to fill out the Authorization for Minor to Travel Without Parent form for each child. You'll have to show that when boarding and each time you leave the ship in port. Here's the link:

Make sure to download the DCL Navigator map BEFORE your cruise. Everything is now handled by the app.
thanks again for these tips! Last Friday midnight was our 30-day check-in and I had everything ready. Booked the royal gathering then breezed through the check-in. All paperwork is ready to go - Woohoo!!!

We really enjoyed our HOTHS cruise last month... so much so that my wife and I purchased a placeholder so that the two of us could cruise alone (we took the grandkids last month). So, I guess our countdown right now is <400 days... We're thinking of a Christmas sailing in 2025.

This is our 4th. I like it but it's really just the time of year we go. We did a Xmas Cruise on the Wish and it wasnt as much fun as the Halloween cruises.
