How many $100 meals do you have per week at disney?

We have an 11 day trip coming up in the end of May and early June. Giving my ADR's a quick glance I think we will have 7-8 meals that will be over $100. That is not caluclating a tip. We are on the DDP so I'm not dropping that down on the table during those 11 days per se, as it's prepaid. Sadly, the DDP we will be using is exactly why the prices are so expensive. Having said that, it's just more convenient and the family prefers to pay up front for an overpriced meal and stay in the Magic so to speak. Other options would be to travel and dine off site or adjust where i eat on-site to save money.

None. We never get the expensive dishes (well, sometimes we do). They just aren't our tastes typically. And we don't eat at expensive restaurants (we only do 2 or 3 ADRs for a week). For three of us we usually get a drink other than water, an appetizer to share, and a meal for each of us. We typically don't get dessert, but we are gonna have to when we do Beaches and Cream this June!

Beaches and Cream absolutely ROCKS =)

We have four planned for our trip and to make it sting less we have been buying Disney gift cards to use towards the meals. This way the meals are already paid for and I can order what I want without worrying. We budgeted $100 for each meal, but have gift cards for $500 just in case. Any money left over we will just use on QS and snacks. It's kind of like our own dining plan :)

I have considered doing the gift card thing- but I worry if I lose the gift card- I also would have to make sure it has a nice "cushion" so I could use it without worrying about it running out. What is the max you can put on a single disney gift card?

Only one time each trip. Maybe. I Can not justify in my head to pay that much for one meal. Last time it was 'Ohana. We never order apps and rarely a drink. We simply don't eat/need that much food. Our old metaoblisms have slowed way down:(. We will save our drinking until after the parks close and then it's our entertainment.

I recently realized that all of my dinners on all of my visits for many years now are at 'signature' dining restaurants. (Jiko, Cali. Grill, Citricos, Le Cellier, and the former Bistro de Paris are my most frequented) However, I rarely break $100 for 2 reasons: 1) I'm often travelling & dining solo, and, 2) I have been a Tables in Wonderland member since long before it was called Tables in Wonderland. With TiW I can have an excellent meal with appetizer, entree, dessert and a couple of glasses of wine and still keep it well under $100, no problem. I still break $100 on many of the Food & Wine Festival events - Festival signature dinners, Party for the Senses, etc., but I always felt it was totally worth it. This past year was the first time in many years that I skipped Party for the Senses ... the overcrowding got to be too much for me. (both at the Party itself, and in EPCOT in general on Festival weekends). I've also missed Victoria & Albert's recently because it's the only place I can think of where dining solo would be a little odd ...

Party of 4: 2 adults and 2 children. A Table service meal each night, especially character meals or signature meals are always about 100$. I guess that's why I get the dining plan. Not much savings, just peace of mind that it's paid for.;)

$500 is their online order limit, but you may be able to call and get a higher one.
we have started to do the GF thing as well the last few trips. we used to get $25 cards at the store whenever we went shopping. paying with multiple smal cards is a pain, so we started going to the Disney Store at the mall. you used to be able to get up to 1500 on card, but for our february trip, they said the limit is now 1000. be sure to take a picture of the card in case you lose it!!! its so much better than the CC. its prepaid, and you always know what you have left. you can always add to it in WDW too, as long as there is some balance left on it.

With 5 of us most meals are close to $100, just depends on where we go. Casey's is at least a $50 meal and that's just hotdogs! We still have 2 elementary school aged children so that helps but soon enough they will be adults as well:eek:.
