How long would it take to replace SGE and MILF?

Since both of these attractions seem to be unpopular among fans and regular park goers and there is the rumor of a mini tommorowland overhaul, when do you think we will finally replace these two attractions?

Well, my predictions are that when the FYL expansion finishes completely in 2013 they will do something with Tomorrowland. In fact, I'm thinking more along the lines of when the Phase 1 ends in 2012. So, I think they will announce it in either 2012 or 2013 with construction beginning late 2013 or 2014 with a two year type re-theming and replacing and plussing the whole land, thus making the opening date at around 2016 or 2015 at the VERY least. Now, if this were to happen then it would take about... From now, about 6 or 7 years. Unless they decide to replace it earlier. That's all speculation, i'm no insider.

I'm hoping the above occurs.

I think ALand is after FLand, but that's just my guess.

TLand seems like it can support itself for a few more years, but if they wanted to I'm sure WDI could gut those places pretty fast.

True, but is Adventureland really in need of a refurb? I just think it needs the carpets out and some slight strengthening of the adventure theme but it's pretty good. TL needs the fixing of the transition with FYL where the Speedway is, a new cohesive theme, change of TTA spiel, new attractions, refurb of some attractions, something for the Tomorrowland Stage, etc.

Here we go again with the whining about Tomorrowland needing a refurb, which it doesn't at all. :brick:

But OP, I agree with you. Those two attractions spoil Tomorrowland. All they need is retheming. Monster's Inc could definitely use some interior construction for a new attraction, but all SGE needs is some clever retheming. The show system is ingenious, I think. The preshows and main theaters are all very nice and lend themselves to really amazing shows. However, Stitch just doesn't do the real estate any justice.

Compared to other TLands, we should be thankful ours looks the way it does. I love it ! No refurb for TLand! :sohappy:

While I agree with you on every single thing you listed. Don't you think TL is in much more need of a refurb than AL?

1. New cohesive theme
2. Laugh Floor replacement
3. Stitch replacement
4. Something MUST be done with the Speedway area
5. Speedway made into two floors to make way for something new or simply demolishing the speedway.
6. Something to occur to the Tomorrowland Stage
7. New TTA spiel
8. Carousel of Progress refurb
9. Buzz Lightyear refurb

EDIT: I agree I love our TL but some good attraction refurbs, and some plussing in the area where the transition from TL to FYL is, should do the trick.

I'm happy with aesthetics, but okay... Look at the entrance of our TL, keep going, and so far it's great, go under the TTA over to the Speedway, it all goes downhill. Why would they have a theme only halfway through the land. Yes, I know we are lucky to have those attractions, I never said to take them away, I simply said refurb.

In my opinion the single biggest problem on Disney property is the Tomorrowland Speedway. That thing takes up so much space and is the only ride in existence that actually detracts from the experience of WDW when you're not even on it!

That's what I mean, refurbs are always great in attractions so that's why I listed the refurbs, and this place just has to get some type of plussing, you can't deny that...

Agreeing with this post too. MILF and SGE need re-theming. I think TL can hold off until ALand gets some help, but TL will need help after that.

IMO Speedway is classic. I would love for it the be completely redone though using HKDL's cars and making the track take up less room, but more driving time.

Was going to mention that in my last post. A couple days ago I watched HKDL's Autopia and I feel it looks awesome. The cars have a nice sleek look to them (w/ on board audio :lookaroun) and the scenery is beautiful. If they could bring that style to TL, it would be great. The "Speedway" theme is not Tomorrowland-ish at all.

They should use ramps for the cars to go on and make it appear as though riding through a futuristic park/city all with electric vehicles....

Agreed! Just needs to be cleaned up, looks great from the entrance keep going behind the TTA and around the Speedway and wow it's just like sinking low the theming.
